Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. No, you knowingly entered false information in Oceania's form. There's nothing honest about that.
  2. For a while, for the variant you caught. Best of luck, and I hope you stay well.
  3. We were the same--double jabbed and double boosted--and still caught the virus aboard. We were not very ill, but spent 11 days in covid jail.
  4. Absolutely. No question. Even more important, UNVAXED passengers will be permitted to board if they test negative, but they are much more likely to pick up the virus in port and bring it aboard.
  5. Our June B2B on Marina was about 1/2 full for the first leg, and 1/3 on the second (or so we were told). As we had Covid on the second leg--for 11 days--I can't tell you how that affected service or ambiance. Our medical care was excellent, as was the food, and we got a lot of reading done...
  6. I'm sure it is a lovely experience. However, on our last cruise, I heard someone mispronounce it as "Privy." Can't get that out of my mind, now!
  7. I am surprised at the credit for the lost days, but hope it holds true for others. Is it FCC or an actual refund?
  8. That's for sure! They didn't officially cancel our South America cruise until about 3 days before. By then, we had canceled our booking--which meant getting FCC, when we would have much rather had the refund offered after THEY canceled.
  9. A look at our upcoming cruise (Oslo-Copenhagen, June 29, Marina) shows cabins available in every category except the top and the bottom. I know there are fewer staterooms in those categories, so they tend to sell out first. The middle levels are not sold out--does that mean loads of passengers have cancelled?
  10. I know of none, but perhaps this falls into the category of no longer a big story. It might have made the news if people were hospitalized or died, but that wasn't the case, thankfully.
  11. Did United extract a fee for the privilege of booking your ticket by phone? The last time I had to change a ticket that way, United "kindly" waived the $95 fee for helping me book an itinerary their website did not show. United is my airline of choice for many reasons, but this was a shocker.
  12. But it's nothing like a normal cold, and we can't pretend it is! More than 6 million people have left the Earth because of Covid. And many formerly healthy people are living with long-Covid in a seemingly endless battle with fatigue, pain, and organ deterioration. We can't wish it away. We must all remain vigilant and take the measures proven effective, for all our sakes.
  13. Terri, that sounds just miserable. I am so sorry for you and your husband, and hope you are better by now. We are supposed to board Marina in Oslo on June 29...time will tell! Our neighbors boarded a Viking river cruise (not sure where) and immediately tested positive. They were whisked off the ship and installed in an airport hotel in Frankfurt, where they spent 9 days. Luckily for them they weren't ill, but what a miserable way to spend 9 days and about $3K.
