Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Costs a little more but definitely takes all the stress away. Were on the June 4th cruise so should be all okay by then.
  2. We stayed at the Plaka Hotel (years ago) roof top terrace is fabulous, hotel was updated for Expo. Location is absolutely perfect. At least have a look at it.
  3. Try looking into a private transfer service. There are 6 of us doing an RCCL cruise and booked a transfer from our hotel in Bologna to the ship in Ravenna.
  4. Next Spring we are on a cruise that leaves out of Rotterdam. It will be Tulip time and the Keukenhof gardens will be open. Should we stay in Amsterdam or Rotterdam? Will stay in Rotterdam on the night pre-cruise departure but which is the best spot to stay to visit the gardens. Thanks in advance.
  5. We stayed at the Doubletree in June. Did the upgraded rooms with lounge access. Basically it fed us our meals and drinks. Food was fine. Loved the location, walked everywhere. Close to Central station and a short walk to cruise ship terminal. Would absolutely stay there again. Location (for us anyway) was perfect.
  6. We originally thought we would fly into Bologna and out of Venice. After reading info about Ravenna I am not sure 3 nights isn't too long. Plan to visit Venice after the cruise for 3 or 4 nights but everything is adjustable if 3 nights in Ravenna is too long. Will check out the NH Ravenna - thanks!!
  7. Multi generation family travelling on a 14 day cruise out of Venice (Ravenna) next June. Original plan was to fly into Bologna - transfer to Ravenna for 3 nights then board the ship. After hours of reading on here - I'm not sure that is the best way to go. Is 3 nights in Ravenna too long? Should we do a couple in Bologna and one pre-cruise in Ravenna (to see mosaics and the beach) or go into Venice and stay there (original plan was to see Venice after the cruise) We have a "stress" traveller and one over 83 will arrange private airport transfers - just keeps it simple. Also hotel suggestions for Ravenna would be appreciated. Thanks so much everyone!!
  8. Just curious as to which airline you were flying...
  9. Thanks everyone! I think I will go ahead and book it.
  10. Am thinking about booking a 3 night dining package on our upcoming cruise but I read somewhere that staff were continually wandering around offering specialty dining at 50% off during the cruise. Pre-cruise dining package is 30% off so if they are offering 50% off on the ship I will wait. Has anyone recently returned or is on a ship that can offer some help. Thanks Marg
  11. Is it still available or have they cancelled that perk??
  12. That is exactly what I was talking about. Was looking at the 3 night discounted specialty dining package but was hoping to find out if the bogo was still available. Hopefully someone will answer...
  13. There used to be a 50% specialty dining discount for the first night - with all the changes does anyone know if that is still valid. Thanks!! Marg Diamond+
