Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. What is the difference between a battery operated or electric fan and any other battery operated or electric item? Digital cameras, travel alarm clock, headphones, flashlights etc. why would fans be singled out over all the other battery or electrical items people bring, from a safety standpoint?
  2. If there is a minimum purchase of 5 days, I wonder if this would be possible for a 10 day cruise….. on day 1, upgrade passenger 1’s 150 minute plan to unlimited for 5 days for $49.97 as shown above. Then on day 5, upgrade passenger 2’s unused 150 minute plan to unlimited for the last 5 days for $49.97. Total $99.94 vs upgrade passenger 1’s 150 minutes for the entire 10 days. 10 x $29.99 - $100 (value of 150 minute plan) = $199.99 that’d save $100. Or can you not upgrade to unlimited for only a specific number of days (5 days minimum obviously)?
  3. thank you for answering. My guess is 48 hours before boarding but not sure. Was hoping someone here has had to do so and knows. All I find on NCL and other searches is cancelling the cruise itself. I wanted to upgrade to unlimited wifi but didn’t want to be out a few hundred bucks if I went to cancel and it was past a cutoff time. I’m only 45 days out right now.
  4. Quick question... (i've searched here, NCL and google) I know if you cancel an add-on such as an Upgrade to Unlimited Wifi, excursions or extra specialty dining packages, you get a refund to your original form of payment. My question is, is there a time frame where you can no longer cancel w/refund? Like 48 hours before the cruise or before you board or 2 weeks out? I don't want to get stuck with my Add-ons if i change my mind about buying them. Thanks..
  5. I normally wait til about the 3 week mark before sailing to contact them but I’m in the process of moving 22 years of stuff to a new home and didn’t want this to slip through the cracks. I didn’t expect them to actually schedule it this far out. Thanks for all your replies. I’ve contacted them already to kindly ask it be rescheduled to the 1st sea day.
  6. I am hosting a Meet & Greet on the Getaway. I’ve hosted several before and they’ve always been scheduled on the first sea day. I just got my meeting booking confirmation and it’s smack dab in the middle of our port day in GSC. is NCL now scheduling the M&Gs on port days or is this a mistake? I’ve replied very politely asking if it can be moved to the next day which is a sea day. conspiracy theory: NCL already has GSC cancelled for our sailing but just hasn’t informed passengers yet. J/k
  7. Whatever you do, make sure that Bernard gets you to Maho during a time the big planes land. When we took one of his tours, we got there and only saw one tiny dual prop commuter plane land. other stops on the tour: stop to feed massive iguanas some lettuce, some fisherman showing us sealife (was it sea stars?), quick stop at Orient Beach and some time shopping in Marigot.
  8. could spell trouble real fast. But again, you can get real drunk onsingle liquor shots just as well, so really the point is moot. exactly! I’m trying really hard to understand their reasoning for this decision. It’s usually motivated by $$$ but I can’t see how that plays out when almost everyone has the UBP. Thanks.
  9. Yo all the bartenders out there, what’s the difference between mixed shots and mixed drinks? Isn’t it just as time consuming to make?
  10. Dug into things a little more. Looks like the big trolleys are still gone but the little Garitas are operating. (Golf carts) found them on a YouTube from a couple weeks ago then googled my way this this website. If you click on the trolley tab, it shows a real time map of the Garita routes and where they currently are travelling (even who the driver is) https://myoldsanjuan.info
  11. That’s odd because https://sanjuanpuertorico.com/trolley-old-san-juan/ says they’re up and running. Their website updated March 2022.
  12. oh ok 20-30 I can do. yeah I’d like to see them try to carry me lol. I’ll call around and see what I can find out. Might even call Cosol and see if they have an alternate option for what I can do during the sailing portion. Thanks for your insight.
  13. Thank you for your suggestions. I will look into them. as for walking, I can walk on uneven terrain just fine and can manage stairs if I take my time. (How many stairs btw?) I just can’t do the big step down into and out of the small boats. I’ve done it before in Belize, Grand Cayman and Tortola and it was very difficult/painful. I am trying to avoid a repeat.
  14. Hi! I was really wanting to do a tour through Cosol tours but a portion of their tour includes a boat ride to snorkel between the Pitons. Due to limited mobility, I can’t get into and out of the boat they use. Not sure if they’d just let me sit in the vehicle (nor would I want to) for the hour+ they are doing the boat ride. Does anyone know of a good tour company (or taxi driver) who offers a tour without the boat ride? Was looking to do everything else Cosol offers, or at the very least, a trip to the mud baths and a viewpoint. Any help would be appreciated.
  15. exactly! When I go to purchase USD a week or so before my cruise (for travel expenses or things not pre-paid) , I’ll either buy from the bank if the rate is lower than my cruise rate or buy OBC. With the way the exchange rate has been going, I’m pretty sure it’ll be OBC!
