  1. Good Tuesday Morning Dailyites! It is currently 45, but 30 minutes ago it was 42...the day is getting better. Sunny, and I'm on the daily spending the morning with friends. Thank you all for the well wishes on my day of aging. I really think starting a new job, and being re-trained, is a good way to get older. @dfishthat first dinner looks really good. But we are going to Red Lobster for the 20 dollar crab leg dinner tonight. And an early lunch at Taqueria del Sol, after i walk the dog. The kittens are now a week old, we should see by the end of this week, their ears uncurl, and their eyes open. So far, all we have seen is them sleeping and eating. Tigger went to the vets yesterday for his follow up, surgical site is good, but he has been running a fever for a week, and they don't know why. So they gave him an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory shot yesterday, and when he came home, he played. Fever was back up last night, and he stayed in bed all night long. Our bed. Along with Tazi and Furnando. It is getting very crowded in bed.
  2. New cat pictures!! Warning, too cute! The reds and Tigger, they get along when food is involved. Collard Greens-the stray who thinks he owns us The babies! the one on the right looks like a miniature Collard Greens, so I may call him Turnip Greens. Picture was taken on Friday, so they were 4 and a half days old. Momma Munchkin-who would not pose
  3. @JazzyV can you train your BFF to be "you" tomorrow? Or at least update us tonight? Sorry it took so long, glad you are home, hope all is well! @RMLincolnSorry I whined. I know you all love and care for Catmando, it's just sometimes, I go over the edge.
  4. @Cruzin TerriI am sorry that you had to cancel the trip, but as everyone has said, and you feel, it was for the best to do so. There are so many amazing places near you that offer sunshine and beaches, maybe you can take a few days together and refresh your soul. The ocean is a healer. DH and I had a conversation yesterday about his health. He is in pain all the time, and turns himself into almost a ball. Curling up where he sits, curling his arms in, his hands in, closes his eyes through most of the day. He is concentrating on the pain, not finding a way to release it. And then I remind him, when we cruise he is not like this, when we walk in the woods he is not like this, when we are in a different situation, with friends or out to eat, he is not like this. And it all comes down to attitude. He knows it. He knows that his attitude can either help him or end him. My husband needs to get excited about a future, even if it is just tomorrow. Now we cant afford to cruise all the time, we cant afford to travel all the time, and if he chooses to sleep until 11 am every day,. then there are no walks in the woods, or lunch out, or evening plans. I try to make as many plans as I can to get him involved with change. Change of place. It does wonders. So I'm going to take a look at the weather this week, and see if Thursday or Friday can be a picnic at the lake in the park day. There are no waves sounds, but sometimes a half naked kayaker goes by....I digress.....
  5. @shadow 123Here too! We feed everything that arrives in our yard. Except for the lizards. I let them eat our bugs though. However I am not sure I want to start feeding an armadillo if it shows up. They will destroy a house foundation in no time flat. And I am not too fond of the coyotes, as they have taken one of my cats. My neighbor is always scared I will end up feeding the foxes, but they show up in the early morning hours, and by then the possums and raccoons have stripped the feeders clean. This is why if I can get a cat off the street, I will do so.
  6. @shadow 123 Welcome. Another cat person here! Right now I have three black one week old kittens on my porch, along with their momma (Munchkin) a stray. There are 4 kittens actually, I refer to them as Black Fuzzy Black Black and White White and black and 4 that live in the house, and we are feeding about 7 strays. Your cat is beautiful (I am the crazy cat lady) This is a very friendly bunch of people, the Daily is my favorite place to be.
  7. Oh, coleslaw- one of my favorite places to eat is Louisiana Bistro, there is one in Decatur and one at the Atlanta airport. They make jalapeno coleslaw-nice and tangy! Had some on Saturday. No mayo. The other place I love it from is the Old Hickory House, closest coleslaw to the Chatham Township NJ deli I can find in the south, since Chick Fil A said that young people don't like coleslaw, so they took theirs off the menu. Using the same excuse for the carrot salad, and the lemon pie. Well, we know who they want as their patrons...
  8. Mykonos- We went to Delos, the Island of Antiquity. The gods were born there, and it is a law that you (human) cannot be born or die there. I figured by going there I was buying one more day of living. A lot of famous people lived there, including Cleopatra. What pirates hide their ship behind a shorter island? Currently on Delos there is a French archeology team working- Cleopatra's home Remains of the theatre Prickly flora My current screen saver picture A Temple on the hillside- I didnt see anyone walking in this area Back to Mykonos- we debated about lunch in town, but every one else was in town, so we headed back to the ship- And saw these right before re boarding A few more from Delos DH and I were the stragglers in the bunch, we usually are. I dont try to push him into too much, and I like time alone with the sea and sky. So after we walked with the tour group for a while when they went to the right.....I went and used the one and only ladies room on the island. There were two, but only one worked. It was a beautiful clear day, and one I hope to remember for a long time to come.
  9. Currently in the midst of Laundry. and what's worse, I hear a nap calling me by name. @Rowsby
  10. Good Monday Morning Dailyites. I will be back later to post some pictures of what we did in Mykonos, but right now, I really just need to wake up. Neighbor told me she was taking off today and tomorrow, but she didnt, so before I take Tigger for a vet check up, I need to walk the dog. It's sunny and 44. @JazzyVYou are in my prayers this morning, I hope that today's surgery goes well and solves the pain problem. Hugs.
  11. @bennybearLast night I was flipping channels and ended up on the wrong one, but it was a travel show of a young Brit hiking the Kanazawa, and there are your pictures! Some of her trails were only one person wide barely...but she carried on. She was on the top of the mountain, and this woman came up, she had climbed the mountain 7 times, and was doing it again at age 65. Almost inspired me. @JazzyV best wishes for a very successful tomorrow. And yes the foot is now swelling again , but I have things I must do. Still weird tomorrow, ? and I will go to urgent care. Right now I am really hungry. So off for food and grocery shopping Oh, and the temps dropped down to 49. DH says the warmest place in the house is the porch wrapped in plastic shower curtains, where the kittens and Munchkin are.
