Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. @cabinluvn did same last year as well. This year they are leaving from San Antonio port. Confirmed by boarding pass, itinerary and HAL PCP. Hope all three aren’t wrong
  2. Excellent news. We join you in San Antonio. Hope that is the port that @cabinluvn meant.
  3. Earlier this year on the Nieuw STATENDAM Rome-Amsterdam our 500 day medallion was left in our stateroom. I don’t remember if they had a mariners event but do know if they did we didn’t receive an invite. I figured it was just another cut back. We did enjoy the in person event when we received the 100 & 300.
  4. Probably too late but I find a nice pinot Grigio with a bit of spice works well with foie gras
  5. HAL will be listed next week and all other brands under the Carnival umbrella by mid dec. info from HAL world cruise agent and reply from Stockperks.
  6. Wishing you a safe and pleasant cruise. Looking forward to riding along via your live thread. Thanks for sharing
  7. We have cruised out of Civitivecchia (port area) over 6 times. We have found that taking a private transportation service from Rome to the port being the less stressful method. I suggest searching post by @cruisemom42. She has so much info on visiting Rome from hotel locations, dining and excursion sites often missed by most travelers. We have stayed a number of times at the Lancelot Hotel which is in located 1-2 blocks from the Colosium and a number of small restaurants, shops, pharmacy within 2-6 blocks. Great family owed hotel with beautiful terraces and comfortable rooms. Have a great cruise and enjoy Rome.
  8. Info on AARP program from the points guy https://thepointsguy.com/news/holland-america-aarp-cruise-partnership/?utm_section=lat&utm_source=TPG Daily Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=7324876&utm_usr=80f95af000b461c7cf5d34b01c1c2dc6c7ada1845b36aba4168551909437a600
  9. Been fortunate to dine at the restaurant twice. Amazing meal, service and wine! We have done the dinner 3x on ship and enjoyed but would jump at the chance of another Cellar Master dinner of I think it was called Chef’s Dinner (?). It was limited to 12-14 diners. I sure miss them both.
  10. Was and will be an absolute YA if offered on our next cruise. Not as spicy as I like but very good. No discount on “special” dinner events
  11. FYI - Specialty Dining reservations on the NS for cruise leaving Civitavecchia (Rome) on April 29th, 2023 now open.
  12. Will be following. Hoping they offer a chefs or sommelier dinner that looks good to you! Have a fantastic time
