Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. For what it's worth, the one you can buy with the polar bear on it is really really nice and super warm. It went on sale prior to my Alaska cruise last May and we got it for like 20$ and having read prior how big it was planned accordingly and brought one of the space saver bags where you squish the air out to make it more compact to get it home easily
  2. I've done the tour on Empress years ago, it was cool but not something I felt the need to do a second time. We got to sit in the captains chair too, while on the bridge tour part. If you havent done it before and you're into the whole techical parts of the ship, its cool. Seeing the food prep and other areas was neat too. Only bummer was a lot of areas you cant take photos
  3. Haha, I feel this. We'll do the MDR maybe ONCE a sailing, but I'd much rather hang in the buffet and not spend two hours on a meal.... And they call almost daily remnding us to make a res.
  4. I've brought my own snorkel gear to Coco several times and have always seen lots of fish near the fake ship werk and more prominently at the wall of cannons as well as just out in the open water, I've seen rays every single time as well and a shark at least twice. Only once (Sept. Of 23) did I ever see jellyfish, and they didn't seem to care about me. If you've never been, the best place to start is from chill Island Beach where they have the little lagoon/coves. You can swim out to the floating docks and that'll get you close to the cannon wall, the ship is a bit more of a swim ((and from what I've gathered that airplane is no longer accessible)) Red is the best floating dock to hang out at, yellow is where the cannon wall is. I didn't circle the fake ship since I was unsure where it was on the map but it further offshore from the red circle, heading toward the top right of my screen shot but not thaattttt far Edited to add a photo I took while there in February this year.
  5. For the coaster you can almost always buy them right at the little booth for single rides. The zip line check in might have availability as well but is more likely to be sold out
  6. So is this the actual case? My one and only Carnival sailing went to Grand Turk and I was unaware Royal stopped there at all, ever, until this. Was it essentially a Carnival (and their brands) exclusive? I had a surprisingly nice day there.
  7. The only thing I'd be worried about being disappointing is if the balloon is even open! We've been to Coco four times since they added the balloon and we've never seen it move, ever. 😞 Would like to try it some day tho', I've done the one at Disney World
  8. Well, due to recent events.....you may not be going to Labadee at all anymore (shame, its amazing) I've done the coaster and the zip both times I've visited. Coaster res probably wont really matter, last year when we were there the all day coaster pass was sold out and we had something like an 11am coaster time, we walked over to it pretty much as soon as we were cleared to leave the ship and were let on, they even let us have a second ride for free since there wasn't anymore around which was cool, because we couldn't get the day pass we had gotten the visit before. As far as the Zip goes, my first visit we did the sitdown one (only one they had at the time) and while we had the second group for the day, were able to walk up and go with the first group. Last year we did the head first / superman style but due to high winds they weren't doing them in the morning and once the zip opened it was only the head first side, no sit down zips were allowed. The whole trip was rather quick, get in the truck, ride up the hill, harness up,....go! My friend and I were the first to go in our group of maybe 8 people total. the whole process isn't even an hour but its 100% worth it. Heres a video from 10 years ago, of the sitdown zip and a video from the coaster too ❤️
  9. Oh yes. I'm all for this. Its for sure a safety issue and shouldn't be blocking the hallways, the photo above is a PERFECT example of this. My dad walks with a folding duel wheel walker, there is ZERO chance of him making it down that hall
