And yet another Prima sailing does not make it to Isafjordur
mthayer295 replied to ontheweb's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Got notification yesterday that the August 17th sailing with skip Isafjordur on the 18th but will instead arrive on Friday the 18th in Ak @ 1 pm and do an overnight there thru the next day, Saturday. However, the NCL website still has not caught up so there are no shore excursions showing up and the Isafjordur excursions are not yet cancelled and refunded. I was happy to receive advanced notice. -
Is Isafjordur ALWAYS CANCELLED????

We are also on that same sailing and I am now getting worried about missing this port. I am also now feeling more and more disappointed with the negative reviews. -
I just read on my roll call how AWFUL BOGO flights can be!

Just got our flights today for 8/17 cruise on Prima. Direct flights each way BOS to REK on Icelandair, overnight arriving at 6am. Return direct LHR-BOS on DL flight run by VS. Only problem is I can’t find the flight on my delta account. I have tried searching with he provided confirm code and with the DL ticket number - both give me an error? -
Prima continues to disappoint and I haven't even sailed.

I agree with folks who have said essentially - make the best of it but I also think this is ridiculous. How about a letter that we have booked you at another time or we have booked you in another restaurant, complimentary for the inconvenience. This is really poor customer service. -
a funny thing happened on my prima transatlantic...

I thoroughly enjoy the story-telling abilities of the OP and sympathize with him. We are sailing Prima in August and I am now concerned about the sea days. We are in Haven so it is not likely that any noise difficulties there could result in us moving to another Haven cabin. The OP mentioned the value to NCL of different customer-types - those that spend in the Casino versus those that spend big on the accommodations. We are the later. Either way you expect service (btw we are also platinum which I sadly hear folks now consider non-premium). I agree that all the double and triple points makes it less of a perk. We earned our points starting over 20 years ago and for some of those we didn’t even get a point per night when NCL changed their plans years ago 😞 -
I was also disappointed with my CN experience. I bought 4 CNs ($1000 worth) last summer. I visited the desk twice for an explanation and was told that I could use multiple CNs on balcony and above. I just booked a Pr1ma Haven cabin for a cruise that is less than 100 days away. I was shocked to learn that NCL would only allow me to use one $250 certificate. I was told that what the CN sales person must have been referring to was a “promotion” that is no longer available. I am shocked that NCL has gotten away with this type of bait and switch selling. I am also shocked that they would do business like this with Platinum clients who are spending significant money to buy their highest end product - a Haven on their new ship….in fact I would think they would reward those who are taking cabins off their hands at last minute and paying in full at time of booking. I will never ever buy another CN cert and after I use the ones that I have, I might not ever book with NCL again.

Even though we are platinum, it has been 5 years since we have been on NCL. We cruised Viking River and Ocean for a few years prior to COVID and this is our first cruise since then. What is the latest policy with NCL in terms of bringing our own water bottles on board?

@2boyzmom- I like your thinking!

Yes I did think the same thing. The bids for this upgrade are in the thousands of dollars per person so it is a lot of money. It is very intriguing to think of how they maneuver this depending on the bids they have for my level cabin
