  1. Leader of the A team. โค๏ธ The culinary team with Exec. Chef Siri have been outstanding. Such passion in their food and presentations. Itโ€™s a team effort that has well exceeded the standard of excellence. Azamara World Cruise a great experience. Latest rumor? Could Amanda P. ( Ret.) and Tony M. be rejoining us as entertainers on our Africa detour? All our male entertainers and dancer are leaving in Dubai. Present ladies entertainers stay. It will be a different ship experience after Dubai but hey we are onboard a wonderful Azamara cruise, great crew and we love sea days and do not need to be entertained much. Plus they have provided us at an extra cost an African Safari on one of our ports of call after Dubai. We are going to do it and they also have excursions offered on our most infrequent ports on detour. Azarmara is all about the guest and whatโ€™s best for them. Life is good on Azamara. B.
  2. A very sweltering day in Ho Chi Minh City. We rode over two hours and went to the Mekong Delta. Rode Tuk Tuk, guest boat and a Saipan.Getting in and out of narrow wobbling Saipan was not a comfortable or pretty sight. I added the task to my age mobility challenge no no. We had lunch along the river followed by a tour of a coconut candy factory where we were also offered a taste of snake liquor. We declined. Off to dinner and tomorrow we fly to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat. Return to ship in Bangkok. Thanks for post. Bruce
  3. Going up the Mekong River and will arrive Ho Chi Minh in three hours. Small ship benefit we are able to dock downtown.
  4. Agree with Dave. Spring break = families as well as holiday cruises.
  5. Tonightโ€™s multi Asian buffet encircling the pool looks like Wow!
  6. F&B Manager said they have never done this. Everyone benefits from being on World Cruise segments. Itโ€™s been a very special cruise and experience.
  7. Tonight on Onward they are setting up a multi Asian buffet that encircles entire pool. All one say is WOW!
  8. Our tour yesterday of Da Nang was an eye opener. Lot of changes since 1969. Skyscrapers, beach resorts, development but some things remain. Poverty with average monthly salary $300.00 sees folks working hard to exist All that remains of Da Nang Air Base was some concrete hangers and maybe what was the control tower. At one time the busiest air field in the world. Gunfighter City and life there is just another chapter in my life. Still on meds for sinus cold but past spreading it around and not coughing. Still some stuffiness. Today we are at sea on our way for a two day stop in Hi Chi Ming city. On day two we are flying to Angkor Wat, Cambodia and will rejoin ship in Bangkok. Enjoy the rest of your day. Bruce
  9. Certainly a bad time to come down with a head cold. Stayed in cabin all day and did not go with Sue on a morning excursion to downtown Ha Long. Tomorrow was one port I was so looking forward to and that is Danang where I was stationed from 1969-70. I have tested negative for Covid but will wait until morning to make a decision. At this point I would definitely wear a mask but will not go unless I improve. It is what it is and I donโ€™t want to pass my cold on to the other couple going on this private excursion. Have a great week everyone. Thanks for all that make the daily special. Bruce
  10. It was a busy day in Halong Bay with three ships in port. Though it was a rather foggy day it was still beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our day excursion looking at some of the over 1,900 island. Visited a fishing village, caves and had a wonderful time onboard our excursion boat. We will spend the night here and sail tomorrow at 1PM. Time to get ready for libations and dinner. Local cultural show onboard tonight. Bon Voyage Red Neck Bob and thanks for the postings. Bruce
  11. As we sail up the coast of China to Vietnam the internet has been slow as molasses. Wonโ€™t even think of posting any pics. Itโ€™s been a hazy day and not sure if itโ€™s weather related or poor air quality? Iโ€™m sure there will be some extra eyes on bridge watch tonight as junk fishing boats abound. Thanks for the report and post. It was sad to hear about the Nieuw Amsterdam crew members. Bruce
  12. The natural lights of Hong Kong are more impressive then the light show but nice.
