Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks for all the info - Peggy
  2. I can't find how many CC Points you get for each category of room. We always just book the prime verandas on the Solstice class bump-outs. Are points per cruise or days? Our cruise next month is 16 nights (17 days). I assume you CC level is irrelevant. Thanks for any info - we need to decide soon on the Go Green.
  3. Thanks to all replies - all great to know! I am wondering if there was no 5% fee in the casino because the guest was Zenith. We have 3 Elite plus but we are also taking people that have never been on a cruise. For, now I think I will tell them about the check up to $200 & we can handle anything else as it comes up. Peggy
  4. Can you still cash one check up to $200 per cruise at Guest Relations? We're taking several people on a cruise in a couple months & the question about check cashing came up, I know you use to be able to cash one check per account but that was before covid. Thanks!
  5. We've been on 3 cruises so far this year but I'm drawing a blank. In the next week or so I will be checking our whole group in (a few have no computer & checking in on the phone is not going to happen). I can't remember all that is needed to check in so I can have it all ready for everyone when I need it. Please refresh my memory. Thanks!!
  6. We have a cruise coming up (not within 45 days yet) & since we will be all staying at the same hotel & sharing a couple Ubers to the port - how can I get the same boarding time for all of us? If I call Celebrity, can that person do all 8 boarding times at once? If not, any other ideas?
  7. Found it - The rum distillery is in St. Lucia - St. Lucia Distillers. They brew a wide variety of rums. It is located in Rousseau Valley, about 30 or so minutes from the port. Yes, they do tastings after the tour, etc. You can look up everything about them at their website, just google them
  8. CORRECTION - I just asked someone who bought a lot of this over the years (but can't remember which island) and it was a creamy rum.
  9. Sorry I am asking this here but my question goes to a specific island & I can't remember which island. There a a rum factory & you walk into the building where there is a huge horseshoe shaped wooden table. There is rum sampling around this horseshoe table. They make a Peanut Butter rum that is fantastic. If I remember correctly, it is not a creme rum. You do not really tour the factory, it is mainly set up for sampling the various rums. Can anyone help me remember which island this is? Once I figure that out, I'll jump over to the Island's page to get an update. Thanks so much!!
  10. My husband & I are taking 8 family members (4 prime balcony cabins) on a Christmas Cruise & we have one cruise booked after that. We are now looking at trips like Overseas Adventure Travel (small group - have really enjoyed), all-inclusive resorts at some of our favorite locations..... and who knows what else. We lived in France for work for 2 1/2 years & traveled Europe a lot so we are looking for ''other than Europe'' trips. We are, at least temporarily, stepping away from cruising after about 45 cruises. Two favorite trips - Seychelle Islands & we took our daughters on a 18 day trip through Africa - they planned it after so it was really special (and easy for me)!
  11. Does anyone else think this new president was hired to increase profits by cutting services, cheapening food selections, instituting charges for things that were free (cookies, 2nd lobster...) and raising the prices (quite a bit) on things like the drink packages, excursions..? Personal opinion is that she is doing a lot of harm by instituting all this in such a short period.
  12. Thank you! I was trying to make a reservation for a surprise for everyone. Over the years (I'm also an agent) the reservations opened 6 months before the sail date. Starting 7 months out, very time I had to call for anything I just checked to see if I could make the reservations. I was continually told that because it was a Christmas cruise reservations could only be made within 90 days. Once the representative even put me on hold to verify the reservations would not open until 90 days out with his supervisor. I was not trusting because I had always been able to make the reservations 6 months out. I called twice a week continually - same response (at least 10 calls between mid-June to July 25th. Waiting on hold forever each time to talk to someone. I called on July 25 (knowing I had just called the 2 days earlier). I was again told reservations for a Christmas cruise would not be open until 90 days out. I asked if they would please just check. They did check and I was told there were no reservations available – everything was full!! I asked her - - if they are not available until 90 days out , why at 5 months (150 days out) are all the reservations full? I was immediately passed to someone else - same story.
  13. I have talked with several regular agents (that answer the calls), Captains Club (who promised to get back with me - that was 3 weeks ago) & I emailed the Celebrity Engagement Center and have heard back from nobody. I got bad info from several Celebrity agents (called 8 times in one month & every time got the same bad info). I have every call documented. This is resulting in a real issue for our Family Christmas cruise. There are 8 of us & most of us are Elite or Elite Plus so we know the routine. I am determined to get this straightened out. Can someone please post the email for the executive offices or resolutions? I tried Google & they only give the email for Lisa Lutoff-Perlo and that won't work. Thank you!!!
  14. A few weeks before we leave, we email special_needs@rccl.com (same for both Celebrity & RCCL) & ask for an extension cord & distilled water. Give them your ship, embarkation date, cabin number & if possible your booking number. It is waiting in the cabin every time.
  15. We are taking our daughters & their husbands on a cruise & want to upgrade everyone to the premium package. I keep watching for a sale with no luck so when I do have to call on something I also ask the price of the upgrade. We have people that have never cruised to 5 that are Elite-Plus. Here is the crazy thing - I have been given prices differing by $50 with the Elite Plus discount on a 12 night cruise. When I state the this cost should be the same (when there is no sale) I'm told 'no' it varies all the time. That doesn't sound right - anyone else hear this?
