  1. You will have 2 elegant nights. They're typically your second night, and second to last night on the ship.
  2. It dropped since I posted that 5hrs ago, unfortunately. This morning it was at $15.50
  3. I remember when it went down to $676 for 100 shares, everyone was jumping on it, as opposed to the $1,550 today.
  4. I wouldn't waste money on the cruise cash. Just link a credit card as a backup, then use the gift cards to pay for your casino donations. The gift cards aren't "use it or lose it". If you donate $3,000 to the casino, then just go to guest services and pay that balance with your gift cards. You could also just preload them to your account at guest services or a kiosk (NOT by getting cruise cash). Then at the end you'll get a refund for any unused funds.
  5. He may end up skipping any of the kids clubs and just going around the ship himself meeting people. Some kids love the kids clubs while others don't. My kids never liked the kids club and always went off and did their own things. They ended up making friends on lido, in the arcade or elsewhere on the ship. The kids club was a one and done for both of my boys.
  6. To answer the OPS question about hotels in case they get to go out of Baltimore in the future, we always stay at the Hampton Inn in Inner Harbor. It's nice to be in the Inner Harbor area and walk to everything including some good restaurants. Once you get to Penn Station on Amtrak it's a short Uber ride to the hotel. Then you can grab an Uber to the port on embarkation day. We've stayed at this hotel numerous times and have always enjoyed it.
  7. The one who picked the 1:30-2pm check-in time needs to get there at his time, or those that picked the 12:00-12:30 time can hang back and go at 1:30-2pm. The reason staggered check-in works, is because it works. If everyone ignored their time and showed up whenever, it'd bottleneck. I have noticed more and more ports are turning people away that show up before their scheduled check-in time.
  8. It asks, but you can skip it. We always fly but I have never put my flight information when checking in. I just skip that section.
  9. As long as you keep the cabinet door propped open, they get pretty cold. The warmer temperatures come from when you shut the cabinet door and the same warm air recirculates and it cannot cool off properly.
  10. We're going to the Dominican for 2 weeks later this summer for vacation as we always do and I'm not the least bit concerned. We travel between Punta Cana & Santo Domingo while there.
  11. Ever since my kids were about 12 we've put them in their own cabin. Minors can board with the adults even if in different cabins. Also as mentioned, you picked an arrival time, not a boarding time.
  12. The elevators are meant to be faster with the concept they're using. On a standard elevator you push the up/down button and you go in whatever door opens going up/down. On the Horizon elevators, you hit the up/down button X amount of times based on how many people you have with you. Then it will tell you which elevator to go to (A, B, C, D, E, F). Then once the elevator opens you get on it with your party and it takes you directly to your floor. It wouldn't stop at other floors unless you have say 2 people going up 3 floors, and someone on the next floor up only has 2 people going up, then they may join yours. It's to eliminate stopping at every floor. The problem is, people just push the button once no matter how many are with them, then get in whatever elevator opens. This screws up the whole process. As far as "and it's full, why would more people crowd into it? ", that's just how people are. If an elevator is completely full and busting at the seams, you can bet your bottom dollar that a party of 6 will join at the next deck with their ice cream.
  13. I wouldn't exactly call them "new" as guests have been using them for 6 years now, but they work great when people actually use them properly. The issue comes when a party of 6 gets in and hits the button once. Then the next stop 4 more people crowd in, and hit the button once. If people would use them properly, they work great!
  14. I've never heard of them, but a quick 30 second Google search on them would have turned me away from them based on reviews.
