Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. OK, we did this on our last cruise (TA in suite, nowhere to spend all that OBC). You transfer money from room to slot machine, they will show you how but it's pretty intuitive. Then play that machine. Even one spin. Then cash out the machine - you will get all the cash you put on plus/minus your winnings. ONE CAVEAT: If you don't play 10-20% of the value you transferred (play, not lose), they will lock you out of doing this again for a few days. In our case it was three days. Solution - do it near the end of the cruise and transfer all the remaining OBC to the machine. Or have a little fun with the slots. We are non gamblers, but I found this process alarmingly fun 😄
  2. Thank you! This is not the number my CVP gave me. I tried it this morning for something else and did indeed get through very quickly.
  3. Excellent point. For me it was just the internet package I was trying to secure, so less savings. Also, the big problem is my CVP did not give me the CC line. She gave me some extension off the main line which went into permanent hold. I called CC this morning for something else and got right through,
  4. Will it be possible to get a wheelchair accessible vehicle for a causeway tour? We'd like to see the country, but hubby in in a chair full time (cannot walk)
  5. Yikes! I was going to grab it, but unsure how bad the quality really is. I just decided to grab the flash sale price on Premium. I like being able to send pics back to the family at home.
  6. I want to take advantage of the flash sale to get Premium Internet for upcoming August 9 Apex cruise. We are both Elite, and I understand we can get an additional Captain's Club discount. But the only way to get that discount applied is to call and sit on endless hold??? Hence my dilemma. I am now 1.5 hours into my third attempt to reach them, using the extension my CVP gave me. CVP can't just apply the CC discount, it seems. This is ridiculous. Here's my question: since today is the last day of the flash sale, can I just book the sale price, and have the CC discount applied later? Or do I lose the chance if I don't get the CC # applied when I book? Or do I have to stay on hold for another hour or so? Also, if I am confused and CC discounts cannot be combined with this sale, please someone put me out of my misery and I'll hang up now.
  7. Thank you! I called Celebrity Special Needs desk, and they said it's a new port for them, so they agreed to try to find out and let me know.
  8. We will be on Celebrity Apex in August, with a stop at Isafjordur. My husband uses a power wheelchair full time. Does anyone know if the tender boats will be able to accommodate a wheelchair passenger? (I understand that unusually rough weather might change that, but just asking if it would work under normal circumstances.)
  9. Can someone please remind me who I have to contact in order to get CC discount attached to website offer? I want to secure premium internet for upcoming cruise.
  10. Sadly, no sale on Zero Proof package... Oh, well.
  11. There is no policy prohibiting any quantity of soft drinks. No need to hide it.
  12. Yep. In 15+ years of cruising with X, our upcoming cruise will be the first time I will carry on a case of Coke Zero.
  13. On Silhouette TA last fall, we found ourselves with a lot of leftover OBC after I had done my worst at the spa. We haven't traditionally gambled. Four days before the end of the cruise, DH and I each put $100 from room charge on slot machines and played a few spins. We got lucky and ended up $15-20 ahead, so we decided to cash out. That was fine. Next day, we went back and found we were locked out. However, we had a few promo dollars and played them. Turns out I liked the slots (uh-oh!). A friendly fellow passenger said we would have to wait three days. We checked every day, and sure enough on the last day of the cruise, we were able to transfer money from our room to the machines. So we each put on half of the OBC we wouldn't use in tips, and went to town. This time we played longer because it was fun. Still ended up a small bit ahead. So we cashed out our OBC and also had some fun. I don't know what percent of the amount transferred you have to risk to avoid being locked out. But on our next cruise we will just play as we want during the cruise, and play to cash out on the last day.
  14. Sure! It was an Invacare Birdie Compact. We got it in Europe due to our emergency need. And it doesn't seem to be sold in the US. But looking at Spinlife or other US sources, I see similar models and it may be worth comparing. It is smaller than the model we have a home, but it does the job when travelling.
