  1. This looks to be a round trip cruise. I’m sure there must have been…a live thread last season.
  2. Were you able to board any faster? Separate lanes? Easier? Anything that might be encouraging?
  3. I am guessing that many passengers embarking on a Princess ship leaving from Southampton will NOT have a medallion (pick up at port). Has anyone from the US or Canada boarded/checked in with a Medallion in hand? What was your experience? To be specific….from the Mayflower Terminal (as of current).
  4. The Island AND the Diamond do not have a dedicated space for the IC. On the Diamond March 2023....they had a very small tray/selection of pastries on a table .... in the casino. Really? Really! Not every day. So random.
  5. My sister mentioned it to me. I had to go to a primary source (direct descendent) to verify. Lucky sister was there in January and had the pork chops. Even she (local) said it was the best she's ever had. You "have to" go and see if it is the same. I think the turn over was March 1st...or at least that's when the family gathered at the hotel for something.
  6. I'm sorry my humor got in the way. By "free" shipping, I literally mean using Princess to transport goods back to the mainland. I've done that in the past. I've used Princess cruises to "ship" things from my house in California to HNL (my daughter's). This came to a stop when security made me fill out a custom's form and have an interview with a CBP agent upon arriving in HNL and before getting off the ship.
  7. Sadly, the Manago Hotel was recently sold earlier this year. My son-in-law's family is the Manago's. The restaurant will continue to operate, but under new ownership. Agree...."had" the best Pork Chops ever. Can't say what the menu will be like. I have tried the Kona Chips. It's missing childhood memories. Just NOT the same. Each island has its own special foods.
  8. I am going through withdrawals and stages of grief. https://www.mauinews.com/news/local-news/2022/12/makers-of-kitchn-cookd-chips-to-close-up-shop/ https://www.khon2.com/maui-news/after-about-50-years-maui-potato-chip-inc-is-closing/#:~:text=HONOLULU (KHON2) – It's an,15.
  9. It's a really long bus ride (maybe 30 minutes), but I have never done it. Maybe @Astro Flyerwould know. There might even be a senior fare. If you do this, give yourself PLENTY of time to get back to the ship. Guri Guri has the small bags (not cheap). Foodland is suppose to carry them. You would think they would be in every store...not. They don't have a long shelf life (eat now). Greasy, crunchy, so good/so bad for you. https://www.mauicounty.gov/609/Maui-Bus-Public-Transit-System Looks like you can get the bus near the harbor (sample) https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Kahului/Maui-Ocean-Center#r/Line-29-bus Editted: Looks like an hour each way. Plug in your date and time. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kahului+Harbor/@20.8515868,-156.5763686,12z/data=!4m27!1m20!4m19!1m6!1m2!1s0x7954d32ec1dbca0b:0x9bec5dc1d580588!2sKahului+Harbor,+VGXF%2BQV,+Kahului,+HI+96732!2m2!1d-156.4752777!2d20.8994444!1m6!1m2!1s0x7954d130a0c031b3:0xad1cd589958ba5c8!2sMaui+Ocean+Center,+The+Aquarium+of+Hawaii,+Maalaea+Road,+Wailuku,+HI!2m2!1d-156.5121616!2d20.7926322!2m3!6e0!7e2!8j1713519000!3e3!3m5!1s0x7954d32ec1dbca0b:0x9bec5dc1d580588!8m2!3d20.8994444!4d-156.4752777!16s%2Fg%2F11txjns95m?entry=ttu
  10. You can learn so much from Google. https://www.casino.org/blog/gambling-on-cruise-ships/ In the United States, you need to be 12 miles off the coast, whereas in the UK, you need to have embarked on a journey into international waters.
  11. I had a perfectly timed flight from Quebec. Air Canada canceled all morning flights. I was assigned a late afternoon flight with a 60 minute connection. If I didn’t pre-purchase a near the front seat and request a wheel chair, I would have definitely missed my flight. Things in my favor: Quebec flight was late, but we made up the time in flight a pusher who ran me through the terminal yelling “coming through”. global entry prefilled out customs form cut in line at US TSA line outbound flight was delayed literally, last one through the door At least they knew I was coming Give yourself plenty of time in Montreal.
  12. It is very sad that Princess does not offer a Reserved Collection Accessible Mini Suite. Sometimes an accessible suite is out of range for some.
  13. If at all possible, you can bet the Captain will take the ship into international waters so the casino $$$$$$$$$ can operate.
  14. I checked in to an independent tour in Halifax and asked the same question about Peggy's Cove. We had a shorter stay on my second visit/cruise to Halifax. The independent tour operator/driver said that Peggy's Cove was about an hour outside of town. He didn't feel comfortable including it in our tour but instead offered a closer "similar" village. At the end, I did not do either. If you have any concerns, I would stick with Princess. If you choose to use an independent operator, but sure they are very reliable.
  15. Once cleared, the gangway will be open all night long. I saw a few passengers disembarking with their luggage (your responsibility). You are correct. Flying out of Quebec is a nightmare (expensive and very few flights). I am not sure you will be able to get to Montreal by train in time to catch a flight EAST. IF...they dock in the morning, it will take a train 2.5 hours to get from Quebec to Montreal. You would still have to clear customs and immigrations in Montreal. It will be another hour or so (terminal is large/Nexus or Global Entry?). The train will have several fare options. If you sign up ahead of time, there are usually Tuesday specials and a senior option. https://www.viarail.ca/en
