  1. WOW! I really didn't think they had that many------Thanks for the heads up on this, those are basics.
  2. Honestly, it wasn't problem. We've been on the Riviera 3 times in that suite and have booked it again for 2025 cruise. It's just a great suite to be in and enjoy the cruise. I mean you'll have a little noise, when docking - but for us we wouldn't change the suite for that.
  3. Have to disagree only about experience. December and January we were on the Nova of Silversea. They run out of some wine, and you had to ask for more. They also run out of lettuce for the salad bar along with a few other items. The Butler never thought ahead, you had to ask for --- and Butler service isn't 24/7. We enjoy afternoon coffee in the suite (we were in a top suite) somedays you got - other days it was forgotten, that's not luxury to me.
  4. Nicely stated, one would think taste should come first.
  5. If it's the Owners Suite it didn't bother us at all inside the suite. Outside you do hear ocean, to me it's the best place to be on the ship.
  6. That is are favored suite on that size ship. It's a great suite to be in if you enjoy your space and amenities that come with the Owners Suite. We didn't her the thruster noise or just didn't notice it. The outsize deck is nice, but a bit small--the wrap around is wonderful, makes no difference which side you dock on, because you have both. We booked the suite again for Seattle to Tokyo for 2025 and looking forward to the cruise. Book it and enjoy your time in the suite.
  7. And that is why we have more than one cruise company---you along make the decision which one you cruise on and spend your dollars (or other currency). What you expect and what is delivered is just your opinion - others might think differently. No one is right or wrong-it's what you believe.
  8. Sounds like you're having a great time, thank you so much for taking the time to report and post your personal feelings regarding this cruise. Enjoy and safe travel thought out your trip. Looking forward to your next post.
  9. But I agree--when one pays the proper amount (what even that is) one should expect and get better food, service. If that doesn't happen you have the right expect what you get or move on. I when with Regent for about 9 or 10 cruises, then when I wasn't happy I moved my business to Silversea---that really didn't pan out. So I know what I had with "O", and I'm coming back. I don't drink, and hardly do any excursions, those I paid extra both on Regent and Silversea. I cruise for the cruise, time along and during very little. I enjoy a nice large Suite with the amenities, "O" has both Regent and Silversea beat for what I want. I hope the meals are better than just OK, but I'm sure along the way I'll have a few nice lunches off the ship. Everybody has their own Idea what a cruise is to them. I don't mine paying for what I get, as long as we enjoy the time away--otherwise we'll move on to someone who wants are business.
  10. Well, it's about budget as prices go up for food (have you eaten in a restaurant lately) you really can't expect cruise prices to stay the same, they have to go up if you want what you use to have on any line. A few months ago I was on the Nova (Silversea), food wasn't that great, I think it's problem on every cruise line. Fact is if you want service, food on the upper end, we're going to have to pay for it.
  11. I find that if you know your dates early enough and shop around you can get nice pricing direct from the airline. We prefer to book ourself, that way we get the flights we want, the cabin and seats we want, the airline you want and most important them amount of connection time we need at a connecting airport. We always arrive a few days early to rest up to enjoy the cruise from day one.
  12. Japan is an interesting country--but the train system is really easy to use-and people really go out of their way to help you. Do the train.
  13. I think it's great that people tell it the way they experience it. Not everyone see'd it the same way, but I enjoy hearing not only the good, but also the not so good. Also all most always on a loner cruise we actually get tried of eating out---sometimes we just want a burger or a tuna sandwich and a movie in the suite. It's just the way it is in my opinion.
  14. Like they said your date to book is list on invoice....that said do it as soon as you can-wouldn't wait.
  15. I think it would be time to leave (if she didn't have laundry of her own).🤣
