  1. Good evening to all, Thank you all for the good wishes for my meeting with the Certified Dementia Practioner. It was a very beneficial experience. She gave me a lot of good information and plenty of helpful hints. She is going to put me in touch with a few other people to give me more help. I was very grateful for all her help. Also very grateful for all your well wishes. Tomorrow is Anita’s funeral at 10 am. DH told me that he does not feel up to going. I am saddened by this, especially since Anita’s late husband and mine were High School classmates. They were very influential in us moving to this area and very helpful to us after we moved here. I don’t want to push him too much so I will go by myself. I think I can make an adequate excuse for his absence. It really will not matter much since i do not know Anita’s brothers or their family and they do not know DH. All in all, I was very grateful for my experience today. Thank you all again. Terri
  2. Good morning to all Dailyites this beautiful Monday morning. I remember the victims of the Boston Marathon in 2013 and what a horrific event that was. I will not celebrate McDonalds. I feel their food is mostly unhealthy and it would be a cold day in hell before I step inside one of their stores. Three cheers for ASL and a wonderful method of communicating with those who are hearing impaired. I have not been to Manzanillo, Mexico. I will take a pass on the meal and drink, but will think about the wine. i will start to get my clothes ready to pack today, laying them out on the bed in the spare bedroom. I am going to pack lightly and make use of laundry service at the various hotels where we will be staying. This afternoon I will be meeting with a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She runs a support group that I attend monthly. However, I have yet to meet her. This is a one-on-one session to get some understanding of Jim’s diagnosis. Also about legal issues and other pertinent issues on which I need some guidance. Sounds like a good place to start. Hope everyone has a great day. @StLouisCruisers prayers for your twin sister as she has her surgery for rotator cuff tear. Hope it goes well. Prayers for everyone on the cares list. Cheers for all that are celebrating and cruising. God Bless, Terri
  3. Hello everyone. It is already Monday morning and I am just getting around to posting. It was a weird kind of day. DH did not have a good day, which means neither did I. It got better as the day progressed. Lots of time wasted that could have been productive. I like t laugh and I like dolphins. Don’t have an ex—Thank God. I like the quote. I will pass on the meal and the libations. I have not been to Hiroshima. Thank you to Jacqui, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for your dedication to the thread. Prayers for all on the cares list and Cheers to those celebrating and cruising. @LAFFNVEGAS Bon Voyage! Lunch looks delicious. I, for one, would be happy to see your reports from NCL’s Haven. Have a wonderful cruise. Hope everyone has a restful night. Good night and God Bless, Terri
  4. Thank you all for the kind condolences on the passing of my friend Anita. Her funeral is at 10 am on Tuesday on Hilton Head. We will attend the Mass. More later. Getting ready for my cleaning lady. Terri
  5. My condolences, Bruno. You were very good to your Dad and I am sure he is smiling down on you from heaven. God Bless, Terri
  6. Good evening my friends. I will make this short. While yesterday was a happy day for us in that we received good news from Jim’s neurologist, today we received very sad news. My friend Anita, who had her kidney removed on March 11, passed away on March 27. Her funeral is Tuesday, April 16. I only found out about it today. It makes me so sad. I never found out what hospital she was in or was able to get in touch with anyone who knew anything. Her obituary was in the newspaper today. Please keep her in your prayers. Thanks Terri
  7. Hello everyone, Just a quick update. All went well at the Neurologist. He feels that DH is doing well and medication remains the same. Follow-up in 6 months. Told us to have a great trip. If there is any problem prior to leaving to give him a call. I really like this doctor. He listens and is very willing to answer any questions. He pays attention to questions from both of us. Thank you all for your kind comments and prayers. It really means a lot. I feel good about the trip to Italy and feel that we can go ahead without a lot of anxiety, taking one day at a time. We just got back and going to have some lunch. Thanks again. Terri
  8. Good morning to all, Thank you all for all the well wishes for DH’s appointment today. It is a terribly rainy and thunderous day here. At 5:30 am I was jolted out of bed by a clap of thunder so loud that the house shook. The whole back yard is flooded and so is the the golf course. There are reports that some roads are flooded as well. We will find a way to get to the Neurologist. DH wants to cancel. i say “NO WAY!” We were supposed to run other errands after the Doc visit. However, those will wait until the sun shines tomorrow. At least that is what is promised. I will report back later. Have to get ready. More later. God Bless, Terri
  9. Good evening everyone. I know it is late and I have not read the posts. I will do so later or tomorrow. Just wanted to ask that you keep us in your prayers tomorrow. DH has an appointment with the Neurologist for his 3 month appointment. Don’t know what to expect and hope he does not put the kabash on the Italy trip. DH seems to be doing okay from what I can see. Will be interested in what the Doc says. More tomorrow. Thank you all for your support and prayers. Prayers for all of you. God Bless, Terri
  10. Good morning to all Dailyites. Happy Tuesday. Not much to report today. At least, not yet. Got up really early, Couldn’t sleep anymore. Thank you to Jacqui, Vanessa, Roy, Debbie, Dixie and Ann for your contributions to keep this thread going. I will pass on the meal and drink (I’m on the wagon these days—Doc’s orders) Although I have been to Alaska, I have not been to Denali. Don’t think I will get there. Prayers for all on the Cares list (thank you Vanessa for keeping DH on the rotation) Cheers to those celebrating and cruising. @ger_77 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! @luvteaching HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope everyone has a great day. God Bless, Terri
  11. Good morning, or what is left of it. Happy Monday. Thank you to Jacqui, Vanessa, Roy, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for their dedication and contributions to this thread. Prayers for all especially those celebrating special days. @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to you and your twin @Norseh2oHappy Birthday to you @ottahand7 Happy Anniversary @erewhon Happy Anniversary. I hope you all enjoy your special day. We do not have much planned for today. Need to get some things done around the house and work on some finances. We are not in the direct path of the eclipse but I understand that we will be able to see a partial view between 2 pm and 4 pm. Don’t have the special glasses and don’t know where to get them. So I guess we will watch it on TV instead. Have a great day everyone and God Bless, Terri
  12. Vanessa, I am sorry you have to go through so much with the RA. I guess I should consider myself lucky that it is PMR and hopefully run its course and be over soon. That is my reasoning for not starting the Kevzara. I wish you all the best with he medication and the surgery. Terri
  13. Good Sunday afternoon, Thank you to Jacqui for the Fleet Report and Dialy and to Roy for the Maps. It took me more than an hour to get through all the posts. I never did catch up on all I missed while I was AWOL. Guess I will just have to wing it. Thank you Vanessa for the Cares and Celebrations Lists. I admire how meticulous you are in keeping track of all of us. Thank you for caring about me in my absence. I was just in a bad place. Trying to work myself back into a better one. Thank you to the F&B department—Debbie, Ann and Dixie. Thank you to Graham @grapau27for Father David’s Hoily and also for your lovely photos. It looks like you had a nice cruise and I hope it lifted Pauline’s spirits. I echo the others in wondering where you two put all that food. I couldn’t get away with a quarter of that. I hope that the cruise helped Pauline feel better after the passing of Sarah’s father. Today has been a good day so far. The GI problems are better. DH is having a good day and it is a beautiful sunny day. I went food shopping and did a few things around the house. I just wish my right shoulder and arm would feel better, it is just about useless. This is a busy week. We have the HVAC people coming on Wednesday for the 6 month service, then on Thursday, Jim sees the Neurologist. Saturday, my cleaners come back (oh, happy day!) and we have to start packing for our trip. I really think it will happen. DH seems to be in a better place than last October, Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that we can pull it off, @Vict0riann and @Overhead FredBon Voyage! Hope you have a wonderful time. @smitty34877 Prayers for Tana and for you and your whole family. I hope Tana’s crisis is over. What a wonderful young man you have in ‘Tana’s son. @JazzyVI hope the surgery works. It is interesting that you are on Kevzara. That was an option for me as an alternative to Prednisone when i saw the Rheumatologist. I declined. I am hoping to be off of Prednisone by in six months. If that does not work, then I will reconsider Kevzara. As for the meal, I like potato salad in most forms as long as there are no peppers in it. I have been to Costa Maya most recently on our last cruise on the beautiful Oceania Vista. We spent the day at the Maya Chan Beach Club and had a great time. @Seasick Sailor prayers for Allen. @aliaschief great photos. Sounds Ike you are having a great time. Prayers for everyone. God Bless, Terri
  14. Good afternoon everyone. I want to make sure i post everyday so that i don’t fall into a habit of not posting and having people look up whether I have posted on another thread. I do appreciate that you all were concerned about me. I continue to have GI problems and hope they resolve soon. I sure want to feel better before we take off for three weeks, Thank you to Jacqui, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann and Dixie for your dedication to this thread. There is a reason why I don’t volunteer to fill in. I am not very reliable. I like rotisserie chicken. However, when I can get it a $5.00 a pop at the supermarket, I am not going to spend the time and energy to make it. Both Kroger’s and Publix have small ones and Sam’s has bigger ones at the same price. I have not been to the port. As for Charlie the Tuna, I am a Bumble Bee fan and more recently, buy my tuna at Costco, which I believe is actually the Bumble Bee brand. As for Twinkies, they were never my favorite. I usually found Hostess Cup Cakes in my lunch box, Chocolate with the squiggle on top. I probably wouldn’t eat one now. Welcome back to all who returned from the Grand Australia cruise. It sounds like you had a grand time. Prayers for all on the cares list and Cheers to those celebrating and cruisning. Have a great Saturday—what’s left of it. God Bless, Terri
