Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. @Vict0riann hi Ann, I will see you and Pat in Fort Lauderdale on April 3. Looking forward to an amazing cruise. Patty
  2. I would contact HAL directly as suggested. My mother and I were on the Konigsdam in February of this year and our accessible cabin did have automatic door openers. We were on the Main deck and were pleasantly surprised. My mom uses an electric scooter and/or a walker. They have also added automatic door openers to the accessible public restrooms on at least the pinnacle class ships. Patty
  3. I recommend contacting Kieran with TourDublin. I have used him many times for various tours in Ireland and have recommended him to family and friends. www.TourDublin.ie patty
  4. I have never submitted a tip in my laundry bag. What I have done is submit a “Let Us Know” comment in the Navigator app. I commend the entire laundry team but include them by name if I had received any notes in the returned laundry. On my March cruise, the laundry manager called my cabin to say thank you and that the comment had made them all very happy. I used the phone call to reiterate how happy I was with the service they provided. Using the Navigator app for submitting comments is great as they are usually read in real time and responded to quickly. It means a lot to all of the crew but especially to those who work so hard behind the scenes.
  5. 9 July Zaandam 35-day Voyage of the Vikings 5 November Nieuw Statendam 14-day Collectors Caribbean 2 February Oosterdam 22-day South America and Antarctica Thanks! Should make my 5-star on the November cruise! Patty
  6. Thanks for the clarification, I did not realize that!
  7. For Dublin, I would try TripAdvisor and look for day tours. I would recommend a private or small group tour as they seem more flexible in picking up at your location. The big bus tours have pre-determined pick-up locations in Dublin which would be a pain as you would have to take a bus or the DART into Dublin to meet the bus. If you are docking in Dun Laoghaire, I would suggest a tour to Powerscourt Gardens, Glendalough, and the Wicklow Mountains. Newgrange, Knowth, and the Hill of Tara are also an option. I would second ToursByLocals. I have used them in other countries and have been very pleased. I would recommend www.TourDublin.ie for tours out of Dublin. I have used this company several times in the past and have recommended them to friends and family. Whatever you decide I'm sure you will enjoy Ireland and Scotland.
  8. Tours of Newgrange are timed entry so it is important to book an early slot. Try the following Newgrange Tours By Mary Gibbons | Newgrange Tours | Dublin She specializes in tours of Newgrange and hopefully will have availability for when you are in Ireland. Be sure and let them know if you are docked in Dun Laoghaire as that is south of Dublin city. You could also try the agency I suggested previously, www.TourDublin.ie I would agree that Newgrange is also a must do. Lots of amazing places/things to see/do in Ireland! Patty
  9. If you are docking in Dun Laoghaire, why would you go all the way into Dublin to meet the tour guide and then drive back the way you came. Glendalough is a must do but I would look for someone who would pick you up in Dun Laoghaire. Try Kieran at www.TourDublin.ie I have booked tours with him in the past and have recommended him to others. He can certainly put together a nice tour for you. Or you can also do as VMax1700 has suggested as then you wouldn't have to drive in the craziness that is Dublin traffic 🙂
