Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Just disembarked this morning. The first couple of days, when it was chillier outside, it was cool enough inside that I wanted warmer clothing. Once we got to Mexico and Roatan, I noticed it was warmer in the public areas. This morning in Galveston the ship was cooler again.
  2. Is there a specific time frame after sailaway that the Fun Shops open? (Since there isn't any "You are now entering international waters" sign . . .) Boarding the Jubilee on Saturday and I would love to snag one of the inaugural season jackets.
  3. Having been on a cane for 35 years, starting out using it only outside my home, I discovered that I would leave it behind when I didn't need it as much as I eventually did (for ALL my walking). I had to remind myself to check for my cane every time I stood up from a seat so I didn't leave it behind. You might want to practice that before your cruise, and also tape a luggage tag with your cabin number on it in case you do leave it behind at some point. Also, another "up vote" for the reassurance that you won't need to worry about the rubber tip wearing down for a long, long time. By the way, one of my happiest discoveries was fashionable canes dot com . . . As long as I need a cane, I may as well choose a great looking one (or six. No kidding).
  4. Is hot water available for tea or other drinks?
  5. Yep, you're right. I'll just bring thermos cups and get hot water from the Lido deck.
  6. I was able to bring my plastic hot pot on board several cruises for making coffee until it died. I now have a collapsible silicone water heater I'm hoping will also make it through security in Galveston. Has anyone had success with this?
  7. I've recently learned that one can buy a year's worth of travel insurance to cover all trips, including road trips. I'm looking for feedback and recommendations on this. Thanks in advance!
