  1. Unless you have a large group to slit it. I'm not sure the normal family is going to pay for that. I checked it out for hubby and I and the price was quoted at $2,000.... Way to much for us. Only two people. Not worth it to me.
  2. #1 Does she get perks like laundry or is it just me? If I get 5 bags, does she get 5 bags too, or is it collectively? If only I get 5, should I be mean and tell her she's not allowed to put laundry in because she's only gold? No, but my husband and I only needed this service once and while and the 5 was more then enough for us on a 7 day cruise. #2 The casino $25 fun play for which I now qualify, does she get it as well? Never use this perk. My guess only the person that is Platinum can do it. #3 The complimentary beverage at Seaday brunch, what if the cruise has multiple Seaday brunches. Thinking it's only once, but thought I'd ask if it's every time? This wasn't a thing before I became Platinum. #4 The VIFP party. Is it a secret I shouldn't tell her? Do I just say "I'm gong to the casino", and sneak away to the party, or is she allowed to join me? I joined hubby before I was Platinum and was allowed to be involved.
  3. Okay never delt with this. If the primary passenger passes I would think that Carnival would have a "special needs" department to deal with this. This is not someone not showing up because they had job that got in the way. A spouse passed away, so wouldn't they handle it differently? From the response I see no one has really dealt with this issue. I know Carnival has policy for standard issue of no shows and cancelations. But this is something out of the norm and would require some communication with Carnival? To make up a story on why he isn't there is odd. I personally would call Carnival and tell them what happen and see what they say and it may be true they need to adjust the price. But for me it would be better to know ahead of time to make the proper decision. The closes I came to this was my parents had a group cruise booked. My mom was primary and my dad got called at the last week of the cruise to go to work. I was and a second person to go on the cruise. I took his spot with our any change in price. But it was set up a head of time.
  4. It wasn't Carnival, but on one cruise the bed was a bit to hard for me. I ask for a "egg crate" to be put on. Solved the problem for me.
  5. I would agree with those that say call Carnival and tell them what is going on. I can't see how the price would change on the room as you guys already PAID in FULL for it. If the room wasn't paid in full then that would probably change the price. If you are going to just show up, then bring the Death Cert. as they most likely can't take your word for it. Good Luck.
  6. Is Carnival doing digital photos now, meaning not printing them out? Our last Celebrity cruise they sold digital photos and email them to us after the cruise. I don't think they were even printing them out.
  7. Thanks for the info. At least we know we can't stay like we have in the past. That was a perk I liked. I could relax from the crowds getting on board, but at least we can drop our stuff off. thesmiths, from my experience we for the most have our stuff arrive early but once or twice that did not happen. So it is a mix bag....
  8. Is Carnival still allowing Platinum members to go to their rooms early to drop off luggage and hang out there? It's been since 2020 since we have sailed on Carnival.
  9. Platinum is "supposed" to have some advantaged at check in. I have never had an issue at getting a early check in. I wouldn't stay up to mid night for that. We did a Celebrity cruise in July of last year and forgot to do the check in. It was two days later and still got a good time. Other family members waited until the last minute like a few days before the cruise and got of course late check ins. We are not VIPs on Celebrity. That was our second cruise with them. One of the family members boarded with us and they had a later check in like 2pm. We traveled in the same car. They still was able to board with us, because it was so early it was very light crowd. With Carnival we are VIP's. I still will do our check-in on the day, probably early morning. Not at mid night unless we happen to be up. We do stay up late at times...
  10. That's the problem with doing text or any written communication. Things get missed interpreted. I just dealt with this with my sister... I love our dogs but my new one would be booted from service dog training pretty quickly. She freaks out at meeting new dogs... Sorry for miss communication. I personally haven't seen any service dogs on cruises. Not that I wont see it in the future.
  11. You know for sure every crew member is fluent in reading English? Maybe the staff that work with the guest have to be. That doesn't mean every one is. On my last cruise we spoke with one of the cleaning staff about something and she only new a few words of English, barely enough to answer our question. So you think she would be fluent in reading English? By the way this is not a put down of the staff. Can you give me a break down of the crew on each cruise line that they speak and read English? I know I can't and from the 30 plus different nationalities which many of them have different levels of training and education. I know one person that can speak Spanish but can't read it. I told you my experience. No reason to jump on me for just saying I haven't seen service dogs on the cruises I have been on. I have seen them on airlines, shopping centers, beaches, private airports and a host of other places. Cruises isn't one of them at least not as of now.
  12. Interesting post. Having my two dogs on a cruise would be interesting. They are NOT service dogs. One we just got and she freaks out when every she see a "new" dog. The other one wants to "prove" her self as Alpha which has it own issues. I think the whole service dog thing is probably not something crew members see a lot. I have sailed on 20+ cruises and have not seen one service dog on the ships I have been on. I can't say I have a lot of experience at this. I do notice dogs in when we are not in the normal areas. But I do see service dogs or service dogs in training. The dogs have a vest that says "I'm working don't pet me." Although most crew members on ships probably don't read English. And views on "pets" probably are different from country to country. So your service dog was a very rare thing for these people. Maybe giving some people a card that you can give to them that goes to a website and explain more about service dogs and how to act around them. But in a more polite way then "non of your business". Also I would have reported to the guest services on the lady that couldn't take a hit on your commination on not bothering your dog while he was working. Hope you had a good vacation....
  13. Unless you're staying in a inexpensive hotel most hotels have business offices for people to print paper work. I cruise last July on Celebrity and I didn't see anyone using their phones to show the boarding pass. I know your luggage tags will have to be printer if you haven't done those. Airlines allow you to use your phones, my guess the cruise lines should be doing the same soon.
  14. Frankly that I don't miss. Faster on the ship the better....
