  1. I asked on a different cruising site, and most of the answers were missing the point. So, let me start by saying... I don't need Data or Wifi. I'm not going to be checking in on Facebook, email or anyplace else. But I do have 2 questions. I have Xfinity mobile. There is no option to pay/subscribe to cellular at sea or any other cell service on the ship. Will be on Carnival by the way. My first question is: If I turn my phone on (leaving data *off*) for 15 minutes a day on the ship to see if there are any texts or voicemails waiting, what is cellular at sea likely going to charge me for 15 mins, no data? Second. Xfinity offers a fee to use my phone all I want at ports. But it says I can skip paying that, and send/Rec texts cheap "al la carte", and make calls that way also. Same question... With Data off, am I going to get stung if the phone is on in port? Won't be making any calls, just would like to have it on in case something at home pops up. Would be Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Thanks.
  2. We'll be arriving with Carnival on a weekday. Is there anything interesting and close enough to walk to? Wife likes shopping. I'm looking at a local lunch, perhaps a small museum or such. We went years ago and did a tour bus tour, hell, the Turtles, etc... I'm going to snorkel in Cozumel, so I won't be doing that here. Thanks.
  3. We'll be arriving at the Carnival dock on a weekday. I know Carnival has shops right there. But is it safe to walk out to the streets? If so, is there any shopping/food/sites right there? If not is something like that an easy cab ride? Thanks
  4. What day of the week? Not so much to do on Sunday. And what are your port times?
  5. 1) The RC web page shows a fee for snorkeling. I *assume* that's for equipment rental. I have all my own gear, including a safety vest, can I snorkel free? 2) Whereabouts would the best snorkeling be? Thanks
  6. We'll be on the Independence of the Sea for a short 3 day cruise over a weekend. Is there a formal/elegant night on such a short cruise? If so, are dress slacks and a shirt enough, or will the maitre d' turn people away? Thanks
