  1. Not entirely sure but at one time the only wave runners were out of Tequila Beach. I don't actually recall seeing any waverunners out off the beach last January. https://tequilabeachtours.com/costa-maya-waverunners-jet-skies/
  2. I don't think the Utopia has started sailing yet.But its only 3 and 4 day voyages out of Port Canaveral vs the 7 day trips out of Miami for the Icon. That says to me the Utopia is much more of a party ship. But yes the Icon is designed to be more family oriented.
  3. Giovanni's has a good antipasto platter, Nonna's Soup, Meatball Gigante, Caprese Salad, Calamari and Polenta as well as gluten free pasta. And several desserts.
  4. Rule of thumb #1: Never buy jewelry in the Caribbean unless you know the store is reputable. Rule of thumb #2: Just wave off any vendors along the beach in Costa Maya. The minute you stop and pay any attention, they don't leave you alone. Rule of thumb #3: The beaches selected for any ship excursion are never the best places to go, especially in Costa Maya.
  5. I believe these were tours by private vendors that met up at Wet Lizard. But you can email Wet Lizard and ask. www.wetlizard@hotmail.com. They're also on FB. And for your other question, contact the Brewery. https://www.belikin.bz/
  6. Just when you convince yourself hot tubs are ok:🤢 https://www.realclearscience.com/articles/2024/03/25/yes_hot_tubs_are_full_of_nasty_germs_1020477.html
  7. Yes, you don't need a Sign and Sail card to enter the shopping area of Puerta Maya.
  8. @Moondoggy51 might be referring to the small beach at the port. I know that there was nothing happening to the old beach at Cha Chi back in January. The guy with the lease/ownership refuses to sell.
  9. West side of Coz is fairly populated with beaches. I would venture that the site could most likely be south of Palancar, but there's no access road now. So maybe between Nachi Cocum and Iberostar. AlthoughI believe there are condo developments along that stretch. Only place near the cruise pier would be to take over Margaritaville (Jimmy no longer needs his retirement fund 😆 ) or Sunset Beach where there's not a lot of room for what hints at being planned.

  11. Most posters on this board are arriving and leaving via cruise ships. Here's the airport website. https://www.sxmairport.com/
  12. If it's not too hot, there are lots of trails and some animals and birds. But you need a ship excursion these days. Visitors can't DIY.
  13. Carnival's big ship Mardi Gras docks there. It's almost as long 344 meters vs 360, and has a deeper depth 12 meters vs just under 10 for Oasis.
  14. Bathrooms at many places along the malecon are at best "rustic", Jaime's included. Jaime says that they are currently using the Luna as overflow from Blue Reef.
  15. Prices are set by Port of Miami, not RCCL. That's their current day rate regardless of length of cruise. Unfortunately there are few nearby offsite parking lots with decent reputation.
