  1. Above statement is true. BUT - what is the cost for a last minute flight home? Airlines may or may not give you a break, but usually they sell a seat at the CURRENT price. and if sold out - tough. and of course a last minute hotel booking.
  2. the bigger question - what happens if you miss the flight? Are you ready for those options? (my odds are 8:1 against you making it)
  3. for hotels, there are other boards here for ports of call that might help
  4. For the vast majority of us that booked a year out - the dinner reservation is exactly the same.
  5. Based on what others have done, we are just doing Uber, so no worry about the correct pickup time, or getting off way before the driver shows up. We have an 11:40 flght from FLL and plan to leave at 8am and call uber once we are in the customs line.
  6. Not sure how serious it is, but a data issue either way. Yea, we do not want to share this stuff, but to assume this is now available to "bad actors" is not the same.
  7. I would stay on or near Ramblas. With jetlag you may want to walk around anyways to stay awake until bedtime, otherwise you will be up at 3am. Either way, you have all day Thursday free and you can tour around. Ramblas is maybe $20 ride to ship.
  8. And they still change it if they need to.
  9. Since there are so many variables, I would go with a later vs earlier time. Are you talking about a paid pickup or a friend? and where are you headed?
  10. You really should the phone back to that lady. She is still looking for it LOL!
  11. Maybe. But that is big assumption. This may be an indirect way of raising prices. (might be a small assumption)
  12. As to the 1 star on App store - that may or may not be accurate. Many folks never post reviews or ratings. And if the app does not ask you to rate it, then no rating. And of course, as said, it does not work well until you board. Once folks get home, they surely do not use it anymore. As said, it seems to work okay onboard.
  13. You will not starve. There are still other options besides the dining rooms that need reservations. There are usually some other times if you do not mind eating later. And as said above, they release many more once onboard.
  14. As said above - only on the first day you embark. similar to many other cruiselines -not all. I know some folks bought some at one of the stops and argued with the staff coming back aboard that they did not do bottles when they first boarded, so wanted to do them now. Nope - that would be a logistical nightmare. Based on my last two trips - they check your bag during embarking the first day and then waive you through. They do even keep track who brought them and who did not.
  15. Personally, I would not get too hung up on distance, or walking. Get a hotel on or near Ramblas and take a cheap taxi to the ship
