Does anyone have any suggestions for an action camera for a beginner. I know GoPro are the top names but they are just too high in price. I've looked at various AKASO models, which are lower prices but I just don't know which are the better choices. Checking reviews are all over the place I'm thinking of getting this type of camera for a potential shore excursion I'm thinking of for next March.

Be glad you got in so early in the day. After our flights were changed (twice) and a short delay in Seattle, we didn't get to Anchorage until 11:30 at night and by then the pre-arrainged shuttles had stopped for the night. We had to take a cab to Captain Cook and barely had time to get our bags ready for pickup before falling in bed for about 4 hours. Next morning we just had time for breakfast before boarding the bus for McKinley lodge. Would really liked to have a chance to unwind and see things like you did. But, after that rocky start, the trip was wonderful.
