  1. on another topic...I saw something in the Daily about IV nutrient remedies on board.. We would never do that on land or sea but seems spa is expanding beyond teeth whitening and acupuncture. I stick mostly to Facials and Swedish Massage. Wonder if they get alot of business for the other stuff!
  2. We travel with benadryl..good for bee stings, coral scratches, insects..can't hurt to have med on board clean it out. My husb got a few stings at once last yr...very aggressive bees and the swelling was there for weeks! I worry in pools if one lays back to float..got it in the neck once!. We travel with a first aid kit but your friend's experience is a good reminder to bring a few things along in ports..beyond a band aid! ( esp if one bleeds easily!)
  3. beautiful natural surroundings but seems very poor..run down buildings & lack of basic amenities
  4. yes, used to have a popcorn machine ( free) in the little theater where movies were shown..was a nice touch!
  5. oh no..now I am truly confused ..We were on 2 very early EDGE cruises . Just hope we never have to face the bucket evac!
  6. yes, I was in error... this is the set up I recall. When pinksandgirl posted BEYOND helipad pic earlier I knew for sure we never partied there! A diff area...once watched staff do main out there..
  7. great review.. sorry about the rain and the creaking and rocking! I'd be drinking ginger ale!
  8. Would love to go but we leave Fl in mid March through May for Family birthdays.. will look for your review..We are booked on Silho for a short cruise in mid Dec 2024...to see how we like Concierge Class.. ( have not been on her for so many years!)
  9. Guess I have to rethink?? We have only Sailed E Class since Edge came online a few yrs ago....so I must be thinking about "long ago" in our cruise history. I recall having to meet at a certain point, having to wear closed toe shoes, security cleared, and then being escorted to the party.. We were walked through a crew bar area and up.one more flight of stairs to the party. Sometimes there were champagne and passed goodies..but no seats Other times just the hot sun.. but an awesone view! Guess my sense of past cruises was in error?? My husb has no idea.
  10. we did enjoy the re runs of the Beyond the Podium lectures that we missed and Cap's presentation .... most of the channels were pushing stuff to buy or excursions they used to offer much more.. now I just read my tablet..
  11. on E CLASS ships..there were very limited offerings ..
  12. we prefer AQ Class and will try Concierge on Silhouette. We tried an E class suite (used up our Covid cancel fcc). Other than priority embark and disembark and a bigger room and balc..not worth the extra fare to us.. be happy with what you book and enjoy!
  13. Question was answered but I have a comment: In our opinion, no assigned asst waiter is a big downfall in Luminae..There's no real chain of responsibility, and more work falls upon the waiter. On BEYOND, we had 1 bread server for the entire rm. She doled minimal servings....no bread basket was left on the table, and she often disappeared...or announced no bread is ready yet! Poor! Asst waiters do alot, including soda service. To us it's a cutback like losing Asst Cabin Attendants...too many rooms for 1 Main Attendant. Others may disagree, but we did not feel well attended to in Luminae, other than by the Sommelier who was outstanding! We had 2 good waiters but they had too many guests to serve effectively.
  14. we had it closed a few times..bad weather and windo cleaning.. They usually try to give a heads up. ( use of CC search feature may lead to quite a few discussions!l) This cabin may not be a good choice for OP.... esp at night..it can be windy as ship moves along!
