Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I am traveling with a group and have booked dinner for our group in Chops. When I made the reservation, I specifically told them that I did not want it on Formal Night, so we booked Day 5 which would put us in Icy Strait Point. You all know what a hassle RC can be and I had to talk to Groups Department who the transferred me to the Sipboard Event Coordinator, it took a while but they finally got back with me with reservations for 18. I couldn't book them myself because I could only book 8 or 10. Well, another cruiser had just been on line and read a review that the second formal night had been on Day 5, now I'm lying awake thinking about how I am going to be able to fix this, if at all. Have you been on this sailing recently? And do you remember which night the second formal night was held? Thank you for any input you might have. I am hesitant to call because I just know I will be on hold for hours with people who can't answer my questions.
  2. We will be on Radiance of the seas in a few weeks, someone in our group asked about theme nights. Specifically 70’s night and Caribbean night. Can anyone who has sailed lately answer her question?
  3. Wonder of the Seas, December 2022, a Chocolate Martini was $14, $16.52 with 18% gratuity.
  4. What wonderful options you all have give us. I'd love to stay at the Pan Pacific but I just looked up their nightly rate. Ouch! I think we'll look for something a little more reasonable. The HOHO bus sounds like a good way to get around without having to rent a car, I will look into that.
  5. We thought we would just head to our hotel and ask them to hold the luggage until check-in time.
  6. We arrive in Vancouver by ship on Friday morning and fly out Saturday at 4:30. What should we try to see in our short time there?
  7. Take it with you. No need for you to suffer. You'll probably have to explain the weird contraption (mine makes me look like the Michelin Man). With all the added salt they put in the food it won't hurt to have the fluids pushed out correctly. Good Luck and enjoy your cruise.
  8. Thank you for all of the responses. This cruise has been rescheduled 4 times. The first time because of Covid and then I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and my oncologist made me cancel the next booking. 1 1/2 years of treatment and I am happy to say that I beat it! I'm a Survivor who just wants to cruise. 🙂 🌴
  9. That's what people have been doing for years. Hoping that in 5 days I will feel much better but they have me worried.
  10. Good idea. I plan to take some with me too.
  11. I have a cold and I am afraid that I will be denied boarding. I have covid tested and it is negative, it's just the cold I get every year at this time. What has your experience been with boarding. I'm afraid I will fly all the way to Florida and be denied because of the common cold.
  12. I always say, "A bad day cruising is better than a good day at work."
  13. Thank you. I will share the website with my group.
  14. Next summer will will be going to Alaska with a Pre-Cruise tour. Just wanting to pick the brains of those who have done one in the past. 1) It doesn't appear that there are any meals covered in the pre tour not even breakfast at the hotel. Has that been your experience? 2) Tipping of your RC "Adventure Specialist". Was a hat passed? Did you pay a certain amount per day? Were bus drivers tipped too? Any information that you can give me would be appreciated. I have a group of 18 going and since I arranged it, I'm also the "expert" and I need to be prepared when questions come. Thanks!
