Hello all. I know every other post is a version of the question what hotel to stay at and of course I too am asking but please help me out. I have the option of the Hyatt House at the Space needle or Mayflower Park. Mayflower Park looks like it's right on the light rail and the monorail and would be easier to get to from the airport. Hyatt House is on the other end of the monorail. Is one area safer or better. We have 2 nights pre cruise and plan to do the Seattle city pass. Visit Pike Place Market, Space Needle, MoPop, the glass gardens and do a harbor tour.

Thank you. I was worried it may be more foggy in the mornings and a noon time excursion would be a "safer" bet.

Hello all I am booked on Princess Cruise Lines Royal Princess May 13 2023 Alaskian cruise with Glacier bay. Our Itinerary is: May 13 Seattle May 14 Sea May 15 Juneau 12p-10p May 16 Skagway 7a-8:30p May 17 Glacier Bay May 18 Ketchikan 7am-1pm May 19 Victoria Canada 7pm-11:59pm May 20 Seattle I have 2 major bucket list excursions i want to be sure to get in: Helcopter to a glacier and Whale watching. It seems that the only location with whale watching excursions is Juneau and it takes up the majority of that port time (and none of the whale excursions seem to fit with doing both whales and helicopter in that port on same day). That leaves me with Skagway for a helicopter tour to a glacier since Ketchikan does not have any listed. The Skagway helicopter excursion through the cruise line only offers one time slot 7:30am-930am. Is this a good time for that excursion or should a try to book with an outside excursion company. I found a 12 noon excursion for the same price with Temsco (it has a 10% cancellation fee). We would like to do the Train while in Skagway as well but the Helicopter is the must do item! Thank you for any insight you can offer :) Edit to add: In Ketchikan we plan to just explore on our own.

Hello, I read (ok maybe just skimmed )through the previous five pages. We are flying to Seattle early for our cruise and wil need a hotel for 2 nights. Planning to explore Pike Place Market an the Space Needle. I have the Hyatt House @ the Space Needle booked. Is that a safe area and good location? I know the monorail is right there and we can take it to the Westlake Center and walk from there to the Market. Would it be better to stay closer to Pike Place and take the monorail to Space needle?

Hello all I need some help with my Skagway excursions. I am booked on the Royal Princess for May 2023. I have already booked and paid for: Glacier Discovery by Helicopter 7:30AM - 9:30AM (our big bucket list excursion) We are in Skagway from 7am-8pm so we have alot of extra time and i want to book something later in the day. My options seem to be: To the Klondike Summit (Motorcoach round trip) with 3 different time slots available: 10:30AM - 12:00PM 1:15PM - 2:45PM 3:15PM - 4:45PM White Pass Rail & Klondike Highway 12:40PM - 4:30PM (motorcoach up and train down) White Pass Scenic Railway 12:00PM - 2:45PM (train round trip) What would you all recommend?

Call and be persistent. Explain you book THAT cabin specifically for a special 50th anniversary cruise and it seems you have been moved as they changed the cabin from a suite to a family unit (I am guessing a dry dock occured after you booked your cruise). I booked an aft corner cabin on Crown, then Princess changed our ship to the Royal and moved us to an undesirable cabin that was valued less then the cabin I had originally booked. I called and it took me 3 calls over as many days to get a cabin I felt was comparable and for the same price as I had previously. I went into the call with "I was on this floor in this type room and on Royal the most comparable room would be cabin XYZ or cabin ABC". I made sure the rooms were available so they couldn't tell me it was already booked. First agent moved us to the cabin I requested at the price of my original booking but forgot my OBC. I called an got that fixed. Then I discover someone "fixed the cabin price" and it was about $800 more. I called and explained everything that was happening and told them I would be happy to forward my confirmation from my original cruise and the confirmation from the day before with the correct price quote. I now check my account weekly to make sure no one is switching things on me again.

That has been my thought as well. With ArrivCan and random changes in testing and vaccine requirments I feel like it would be easier to do Seattle.

If only I could do 2 cabins 😂

For Alaska with a Glacier bay day would it be better to have a Forward Minisuite with the forward and port side wrap balcony or an aft view balcony (not a suite)?

I have both a Seattle departure and a Vancouver departure on hold and have no idea which to choose. everything is the same except Seattle one stops in Victoria and the Vancouver does not, and they are different ships. The maps for the ship path even looks the same going slightly outside the islands off the coast. So is it 100% that all Vancouver cruises stay to the inside of the islands?

I may go ahead and book a Vancouver RT to hold while I weigh the pros and cons between it and Seattle (pricing of flights ect). I have RT out of Seattle booked but I have been considering moving to Vancouver

We got everything sorted out though it took a couple days and several chat sessions. I have been happy with the people I have dealt with and they were understanding and helpful in correcting the booking and charged amount. We are on the Baja Deck Aft view cabin B736 (what we requested). After all was settled we ended up being cheaper then what we had booked Crown Princess at. I am very happy about the changed ship since Crown is having issues. I still have my OBC and Princess Plus package. Bookmarking excursion and will book those this weekend. Now we have to wait for flights to come available. Never sailed Princess so I am not in anyway a Princess Apologist 😂 just sharing my experience.

I was quite shocked to see the increased total. I'm not sure what happened within the reassignment phase but that was a no go for us. Hopefully our room assignment is all settled not but I will keep close watch
