We have a flight out of Long Beach Airport at 11:00am. Can any recent cruisers off of Sapphire Princess tell me what time the ship docks in San Pedro? Should we do self disembark or do the first color code off of the ship. We have a shuttle already scheduled to pick us up at the port. Thanks for your help

We disembarked today as well. We had yellow 2 tags which was the Elite/Platinum with independent arrangements tag. Our meeting time was 8:45 in the Pacific Moon dining room. Our tag was called just after 9:00 am and we literally walked past the immigration booths without stopping (US citizens only could do this) and after all five of us picking up our luggage, we were at the curb waiting for our limo just after 9:15am. It took our limo about 20 minutes to find us (idiot driver) and we were passing the exit to the Long Beach airport off the 405 at about 9:50 am. The airport is only about 5 minutes off the exit.

You could do self-disembarkation and leave the ship a lot earlier. Those doing self-disembarkation have to be able to handle everything going down the escalator and still have one hand free. They were enforcing that this morning.

We disembarked the Sapphire between Christmas and New Year's. They were so slow the week before on Dec. 22, that we were afraid we would miss our 11:30 AM flight out of LAX. We did the self disembark (we are Elite but didn't think we should even wait for that) and pulled off our luggage. They started self-disembarkation that morning at 8:00 AM sharp that morning. Turned out not to be as bad as we thought it would, and we had a lot of luggage. Now we did have to stop at the immigration booths from that cruise and have the person there scan our passports (everyone had to do this). Down the escalator and out to the curb. We were out at the Virgin America waiting area at LAX by 9:10 AM that morning. So it was a snap.

We have flown out of Long Beach before also. There is no problem there either. We also had transportation lined up ahead of time and they got their quite quickly, which helped too.

If you think you will do the walk off, I would let the shuttle know before you leave that you will be doing this and they may get to the port earlier.

Have a great cruise. The Sapphire is such a nice ship.

We also got off the Sapphire yesterday, we had red4 tags and walked off the ship at 8:30 right on the dot, sailed through customs, picked up our luggage and were on the Princess transfer bus by 8:45, by 8:50 we were on the road.

We got to LAX about 9:15-20 (really light traffic) and at 9:40 we were at our gate two hours early for our 12 flight.

This was the smoothest disembarkment so far:)
