Legend of the Seas - Upgrading in Jan 2013

Recommended Posts

The renovation is well overdue, we went on Legendin March and she was very shabby:(

A lot of revitalisation has taken place on a lot of RC

ships over the last year or so and they have all finished on time. I wouldn't worry :)

Absoultely agree, plus this will be the 5th Vision class ship to be revitalized, so I'd expect there will be little if any surprises.

I was on Legend in Feb - great crew! The ship was a little shop worn - will be nice to see it refurbished - I am sure they have the process down pat, and will not delay your departure.

Relax, and enjoy your cruise!

By now, they've got the process pretty down pat, but I would not be surprised to see a few rough edges or lingering issues on her first post-refurb sailing. We recently sailed celebrity millennium on her first post-dry dock sailing, and like legend she was far from the first to get the same treatment. While ALMOST everything was done, there were still a few workmen leftover, a few minor spots closed or getting touch-up, but never anything that really impacted out trip. In short, I wouldn't worry too much about it, but I'd also go in with an open mind and try not to freak out if a room is closed for a night while they replace the carpet.

Don't forget the OP is on a 2 night cruise.

Someone reported they saw her in Singapore yard getting spruced up a week or so ago.

Yes, the Legend is in one of Singapore's shipyards now. Her photo came out in the local Business Times not too long ago.

Apparently the Azamara Journey also did a short dry-dock at the same shipyard recently.

She should be nicely broken in by the time that we board her in December!

We will be on the Vision in a few months, so we will have a ship without the revisions, and then see what has been done to the Legend.

Actually was on the Rhapsody earlier last year in Alaska, nice job in some areas, but the CL was tiny!!:)

Thank You for posting your pics of the refurbished Legend.

RCCL has forgotten to actually WOW the $50 Million they supposedly spent on her refurbishment? There is hardly any MEDIA or fanfare for us future cruisers to admire?

What were the cabin improvements did you notice,ie new carpets or recovering of lounges within cabins or new Balcony deck furniture perhaps?Did they improve the bathrooms?

What did you think of the new Park Cafe, aft of the pool on deck 7?

Again Thank You for posting.

I maybe wrong however i personally note that her refurbishment maybe very similar to the Splendour with a few exceptions?ie,note the difference of the positioning of the Concierge + Diamond lounge are different?

Thank You for your pics.
