What is a 7A on the Pride

Bill-

I believe it is an obstructed view. The cabin has French doors that open, but no balcony. They look out at the lifeboats. So you would get fresh air, but not a real view.

Its a obstructed balcony, the first three cabins are supposed to be more obstructed. Try and find one the most between cabins. It is a full balcony. I think the poster above me is confusing them with the 4K? the insides with french doors that used to be 5As.

part of the view is obstructed with life boats...but its the same size balcony. (well there seem to be at least one that is odd sized, but Im talking mostly)

the cabin pic posted with the french doors isn't a 7a - fire's right, they're 4K's now... so, it has the french doors, which open, but you can't go out - so light and air, but at an inside price

and yeah - the cabins further forward have the tender boats, instead of lifeboats that are prevalent elsewhere. the tender boats are taller, so the view is more obstructed... but it's more than the first three... try to find a cabin between lifeboats and there are a few that have an all but clear view forward and down.

here's the info on 7a's:

CATEGORY 7A

Each stateroom has a standard balcony that is obstructed by the roof of a lifeboat or tender boat (and davits).

Obstructed by Lifeboat

The roof of the lifeboat is somewhat level with the balcony floor; therefore, while sitting on the balcony, you have an ocean view when looking straight ahead but an obstructed view when looking down.

· Port Side: 5168 5170 5172 5174 5176 5178 5180 5182 5184 5186 5188 5190 5224 5226 5228 5230 5232 5234 5236 5238

· Starboard: 5169 5171 5173 5175 5177 5179 5181 5183 5185 5187 5189 5191 5227 5229 5231 5233 5235 5237 5239 5245

Large Balcony

Obstructed by Tender boat

The roof of the tender boat is somewhat level with the top of the balcony railing; therefore, while sitting on the balcony, the view is obstructed – if standing on the balcony, you have an ocean view when looking straight ahead but an obstructed view when looking down.

· Port Side: 5142 5144 5146 5148 5150 5152 5154 5156 5158 5160 5162 5164 5166

Tell your friend to book the cabin!!!!! We just had a 7a on our sailing 4/11/10. Falkcor is right, get one of the ones further back from the first 3 lifeboats. We had 5179. The lifeboat sits at the level of the balcony floor. There is a cable and "arms" that are alittle higher but the view out is just fine! Our room was in the middle of lifeboat 9 so the "arms" didn't obstruct our view. It was a great price for a balcony and we wouldn't hesitate to book one again(and probably will next year!)
