Carnival Players Club

Has anyone had problems getting registered with Carnival's players club? I signed up a few cruises ago with them and have pumped more than enough money into their casinos. No answer to emails or phone calls. What would you guys suggest?

Go to oceanplayersclub.com and submit a message. We did that and got a response right away. We let them know what cruise we were going on next and we received a nice "Bon Voyage" package in our stateroom when we arrived.

Same here. I just got this response from them today:

Thank you for contacting the Ocean Players Club!

You are eligible for a premium bon voyage package in your stateroom! We will place your details onto our guest list. Have a wonderful voyage!

Anyone know what this package consists of? In the past, we've received the letter with 500 points and a free drink coupon. I'm thinking this may be something better.

To the OP, did you try filling out the "contact us" area on their website?

We just got back from the Spirit last week. Our "premium bon voyage package" included a basket with fruit, cheese, crackers and a bottle of wine. In addition, we received a $15 coupon towards a photo and two large bottles of water.

I did the email thing for several cruises. Got the canned response back, but never got ANYTHING on the ship. I finally gave up and stopped sending in the email.

This past cruise I had a letter in the cabin for the 500 points and free drink. Except I could only claim the free drink between 8-9 in the evening. Since we had late seating, I never got the drink, it was a waste.

I've spent good money in the slots in the last year, though I mostly play table games. I don't play for the benefits (obviously ), because I never get any despite donating quite a bit in two Ecstasy trips last year.

See the response by ColoradoBeachbum above.

I've also heard other combinations of gifts, but this seems to be about what most people have been getting.

Glad you finally got a response :). Good luck!

Boo

P.S. I'll let you know when we get back in early April what we got!

Well...I just got back and they really came through. Basket of fruit, cheeses and wine, 2 bottles of water, $15 coupon for photos, 500 slot points, and 3 free drinks. The entire casino staff was great and knew me once I sat down to play. The hostess was better than I even expected.

Do you have to be a member prior to cruising Carnival to get the Bon Voyage Package? I am a member of Grazie (Venitian Casino Club) already. Sould I send OPC my membership # and my criuse date for this benefit??

It couldn't hurt. They were really great once I got onboard.

Not a bad deal you got there. But, how much did you dump in their casino? LOL

Not as much on this trip. Because I was with a group of friends, my attention was split. I am going again in October solo so I can really concentrate on the casino. They have offered me the same perks again. Just wish I could get a card from them.

Generally speaking, I find CCL casino to be tight. It takes a lot to get anything out of the casino (but they are good with free drinks). CCL isn't as bad as RCCL. I find RCCL to be terrible. At least on CCL if you are playing anything more than $50/hand you get free drinks. I was recently on NCL and was pleasantly surpised. I'm also impressed with the perks on Celebrity/Azamara. Both are fair but they do a good job of rewarding the people that play at stronger levels.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO Deckhawk: I get a lot of perks on CCL. Celebrity is a good line for perks if you play at a higher level, usually green and/or black chips. Back when I was a red chip player Celebrity did a lot for me because at times I was the only player at the craps table. One thing is good at an empty table, it allows you to get into a groove. You get the dice right back after you seven out. I've also noticed, when playing, other people will join the game while I am the shooter. Maybe you noticed the same thing while you are the shooter?

I agree. The one bad thing for me as a dark side player - if I get hot and make a lot of points, there is no one to pass the dice too. I find that when you are at a table yourself you have more chance to meet the staff. Maybe I am wrong, but perks on a ship seem to be 50% your level of play and 50% how they view you. If you are an a$$ when you are at the table...or you are not tipping, I feel they are less likely to take care of you. I have been on ships and played less the levels they normal require, but because I took care of the staff and spent time to get to know them and write good comments about them, they took care of me with extra perks.

We just received exact same response (thanks to this board for tip). Only they said they credited $25.00 to our cruise coming up in a week. Not sure if it's for the casino or just in general, but who cares, I'm grateful for any freebee! :p

Does anyone know if they would offer anything in advance for an upcoming first-time cruiser that has a high rating at another well known land based-casino? I am a Diamond card with Harrah's. Just curious.

If you are a diamond level with Harrah's, you should book NCL through their Casinos at Sea (CAS) department. If you do, you will get a substantial discount on the booking PLUS you will receive in your stateroom upon boarding a Player's Card attached to which is a free drink certificate allowing you complimentary drinks in the casino while you are playing. In addition to that (and it's a very nice perk indeed!), you will ALSO receive lovely little treats sent to your cabin during the cruise (i.e. chocolate covered strawberries, imported cheese platter, hand made chocolates, etc.). Last but not least, based on your play, you should receive money off of your cruise folio at the end of the cruise.

In fact, I don't even like mainstream cruising but I cruise NCL primarily BECAUSE OF their wonderful casino perks to players at my level (and as a diamond I'm sure your level as well). And, of course, they really do have some of the friendliest staff at sea!
