Boarding in Sydney

Recommended Posts

We will be boarding the Solstice on April 20th. Once a person has boarded, are you able to go back on shore? Would like to get rid of our carry-ons and go back out and walk around.

If boarding at OPT. THE ANSWER IS NO.

Thanks, I guess better to board late and ask hotel for late checkout.

Most hotels will store your bags for you for a few hours so even if you can't get a late checkout you can still sightsee unencumbered with carryons.

Can I please ask why this not allowed?

Customs and Border security rule as I understand it.

Came in in 2014 around the time of the siege in Martin Place. I guess it's just another security measure, but I have no idea of their precise reasoning.
