Avalon Danube Dreams embarkation in Budapest

We arrive in Budapest at 8:40 am and have a transfer by Avalon from airport included. Im assuming we cannot get into our room that morning....

Has anyone else been in this situation? I want to do some sightseeing that day and am wondering how this will work since we arrive so early on embarkation day. One rep said we'd be taken to the ship and another said we would probably be taken to a meeting point for all guests to catch a shuttle to the ship that afternoon....

From my experience Avalon have a common meeting point at a hotel for all guests. The time and location will be in your information. You should be taken to this hotel where they will check in your bags and then you should have free time till your departure time. We had arrived independently previous evening and stayed in a different hotel, had a morning sightseeing then made our way to the meeting point (3pm from memory). There was a conference room with access to bathrooms, and tea/coffee and light snacks available. At a given time busses arrived to transport everyone to the ship. We had walked past the ship during the morning - previous passengers were disembarking.

What meeting hotel is Avalon using in Budapest this year?
