The ships don't have anything but twin beds that are put together to make one bed. If the twin beds are made up as one bed and can't be separated then they can be made up separately, each bed with its on set of sheets, etc. They'd just be next to each other. We have had cabins like this and just ask for a rollway bed when there is only a twin bed and a bunk. But they are made up as one bed for us. Its tight in the cabin but still room to move around. We have never had a fridge in these cabins.

Yes, that's true about the twin beds being pushed together to make one. However, not all ships allow roll always and all rooms on the Conquest Class ships have refrigerators.

I took the question as asking if anyone has actually had the 2 twin beds separated in the cabin. Of course technically it is possible but like I said, it could be a little crowded. But maybe there is someone who has actually done it and will let us know. From staying in there before, I don't think I would do it because of the approximation to where the fridge is and it might make it very difficult to open (I like to keep some stuff in there) and hard to get to the phone and things.

You can't have the twin beds separated because no 1As have 2 twin beds.

You have one twin bed and either an upper or a sofa bed. The sofa beds may be pushed together with the twin bed to make one large bed on some ships and on others it can't be moved.

Edit: There are a couple of rare exceptions of 1A rooms without portholes that may have 2 twin beds.

I booked 7345 on the Conquest a few days ago off a casino offer I couldn't pass up. I'll be ecstatic if it looks like the pics you posted instead of the single twin with upper Pullman it's listed as. :)

I saw the pics but I have had 1As with portholes and the sofa pushed up against the bed where it looked just like that.

I understand. My mom has also had one of those rooms like you mentioned - 2217 to be exact. The ones that I am talking about and that I stayed in do not have a sofa. They are 2 twin beds that are pushed together just like a "normal" room.

I was in a 1A on the Splendor (cabin 2217) this past week and it was great. The only drawback was the noise from the Anchor. WOW! A little loud in port days but otherwise it was a great room. Very spacious as it had 1 single twin bed and 1 convertable sofa. Being as I was travelling as a single, it was GREAT! Not sure I can ever really go back to having a roommate :)

We will have this room on the Conquest Sept,13th 2015.

I LOVE 1A's.

That is an amazing savings and I would be quite pleased with that. I saved about $250 for a 5-day sailing and I was OK with the cabin. I saw your other thread regarding the upgrade to an aft cabin. I find there is much more vibrations back there and also some noise from the dining room above. .

Yes, the $500 looks better in my pocket then CCL's!

I have had 2 previous AFT cabins and they were fine.

Be prepared to be ecstatic then. I have been booking these 3 cabins when I travel solo for almost a decade now.

Once, Carnival thought they were doing me a favor by "upgrading" me to a front Main Deck porthole. I turned them down since I liked the size and the deck location of 7345 much better.

I have a 21 day B2B on Glory booked with 7345 as my cabin for each leg.

I have a 4J (7202) coming up on the Liberty. It's considered an interior with a walkway view- and it does have a large window at the front of the ship.

This thread is about 1A cabins.

1A's are confusing, at least to me, and it seems to be to other members on the Carnival forum. I have started different threads on the topic, and still have questions about other 1A cabins because they all seem to be unique. I thought it would be beneficial to have one thread dedicated to this topic with all the information you would want to know.

I have started by listing just about all the 1A cabin's by number on the different ship classes. I, for one, am especially interested to better understand which cabins have true upper/lowers, which one have 2 twin beds that are able to push together, and which have 1 bed and 1 convertible sofa. Also, which ones have portholes or other interesting info. Pictures, if anyone has them, are a plus (with ship and room #, of course)! :D Please contribute to my list and make any changes for errors I may have made.

Thanks for your contributions!! :D

i stayed on carnival freedom cabin 1216 last fall. i was so pleased to get it because it was the last 1A (cheap!) cabin that was a porthole cabin on the port side for inside cabin prices. i was even more delighted to find out that it is the size of an outside cabin. it had two portholes with a decent sized window ledge/seat, two twin beds (i'm sure they could be converted to a queen), and a sleeper sofa with coffee table. loved everything about it! it was only the third or so cabin from the bow of the ship, and although we had heard it was noisy when coming into port, i never noticed any of the grinding or clanging i had read about. highly recommend!

I stayed in 8357 on the Freedom a few weeks ago. I didn't get any pictures, but I can confirm that there are two twin beds on the ground that can be converted to a king. We had them pushed together and there was plenty of space to get around.

I want to point out, just so that nobody gets confused, that room 1216 on Freedom is not a 1A cabin. It's a category PT. PT cabins will all have the 2 standard beds that can be pushed together. 1A cabins typically do not. 1212, next door to your room, is a 1A cabin with portholes. It would have 1 bed plus either a sofabed or upper. Deck plans say that the 2nd bed is an upper in 1212, even though the list you quoted says it's a sofabed. I'm not sure which is right. The room you had, 1216, is still a great room, and it's the 2nd cheapest category on the ship, with the 1As being the cheapest. It's just not a 1A. Some 1A cabins have the 2 portholes, most do not. Some porthole cabins are 1As, some are not--those are PTs. PTs have 2 standard beds, 1As with portholes have 1.

I said that 1As typically don't have 2 standard beds in them. The exceptions are the midship 1As on Conquest class decks 6, 7, & 8. Previous poster, nickw, mentioned one of those. And the Spirit class 1As are the other exception. I think that's it.

Will be staying in 2445 on the Triumph - classified as a 1A - I assume it will only have one bed on the floor - but will take pics to confirm.

...and I was offered an upsell the other day to an OV (she made sure to emphasize the big window - I told her my current cabin has TWO big windows)... it was an aft cabin right along the back of deck 2 - the only difference would be the 'bigger bed' - which I don't really need (altho the price was good at $100 for 10 nights)... also have had friends staying in that area once and they were constantly complaining about all the 'vibrations'....

I politely declined...now if they had offered me a balcony......:D:D

Those are the ones I'm not quite sure about. Victory & Triumph each have 2 of those 1A rooms with the 2 picture windows. I had one, 2444, on Triumph in 2010. 1 bed on the floor plus the upper. I have heard rumors & even may have seen pics that some (or maybe all) of those 4 rooms have had a 2nd standard bed put in them. But if so, I don't know which ones got it & which ones didn't.

I was traveling with k2excursion when we had 2444 on the Triumph. If you look at that site that has pictures: cruise line rooms dot com, the first 5 pictures there that say submitted by - were taken by me. I don't know who submitted them but it wasn't me. In the third picture you can see my knee at the bottom on the picture. But it gives you an idea of how the room was set up back then. We both felt that there was enough room to have another bed on the floor.

I've actually been in 2444 on the Triumph - many years ago - so know the layout of the room - I suspect still only single bed on the floor which is okay - but hoping for a flat screen tv instead of that big monster on the counter :)

ok, just so I have this straight:confused: while trying to decide what cabin to book to save a few $:

The Valor's 1A cabins 6393, 7345 and 8357 would have 2 twin beds that could be pushed together. They look larger than other 1As on the deck plans I'm checking.

PT cabins are currently pricing out $80 more for the two of us for a 5 day itinerary. I believe they have a sofa while the above 1As do not.

please correct me if I'm wrong:)

Froufie - I'll be interested to hear your review. I have that cabin next June.

I just had 2444 for 21 days on the recent Journeys B2B on the Triumph (Oct 24- Nov 14). Friends were jealous of all the room I had. There is still an old type TV on the vanity and a single bed. I loved the cabin.

I did notice when the captain was going at higher speeds, there was quite a bit of vibration and noise. When going slower, it was almost non existent. Didn't bother me at all. Would take this cabin again in a heartbeat.

Hi Deb!!!

...and I had cabin 2445 on the 2nd/10 day journeys cruise from SJ to Galveston (Nov 4-14) and loved the cabin (I was aware of the size as I had cruised in it before) - and yes everyone was quite surprised at how spacious it was - and I had a newer/smaller flat screen TV on the side of the vanity.

I also did feel some very slight vibration when speeding along but for the most part it was super comfortable and a great bargain! :)
