Carnival Sunshine 8/8/15 8 day sailing review with pics

Meant to start it two days ago..... just all the fun of returning home has kept me away from doing it.;) Many pics, and already about 2/3 written (I write on my iPad in the notes section during the cruise itself to keep it fresh). I am not in the class as some of the elite here in terms of writing reviews, but have to admit I do enjoy doing them.:)

Looking forward to your review. I will be on that ship in April. While I've been to all the ports before, I look forward to being on the ship.

We chose this ship and itinerary for two reasons: the first, in our fairly extensive Carnival cruising, we had never been to Curacao and the second, while having seen the Sunshine (and stayed over on her for the naming ceremony in New Orleans in November 2013), we had never sailed on her and wanted to experience the ship. Much more on all of this to follow.

Anxiously awaiting your review! We will be on this itinerary on our October cruise. I'm interested in your thoughts on Curacao and Aruba as this will be our first time to both of these ports.

I will have many comments on both ports. Having never been to curaçao? It was very enlightening, and to be honest somewhat unique. It has also been some time since we had been to Aruba, so from

a "newness perspective", it has been a good while.

Awesome, I can't wait to read your review! We sailed on Sunshine earlier this year and had a great time, and I booked her for a girls' cruise next May out of Charleston. I love reading reviews of ships I have sailed/will be sailing. :)

Great. I'll be tuning in to find out about Sunshine. Sunshine will be coming up to NYC for the Spring thru Fall 2016 season. I plan on doing the New England/Canada itinerary in Sep-2016.

I look forward to learning all about Sunshine. Thanks for taking the time to post your review.

Welcome back Jimbo!!!

Very much looking forward to your review.

We are still deciding between Magic out of PC next summer, or Sunshine, so close to home, out of NYC.:D:D:D

Patiently waiting..

Thanks, that is an interesting dilemma.;) I had some reservations regarding sailing on the Sunshine. Without cutting to the chase, I would not hesitate sailing her again (and I am). :)

We have sailed the Magic (12 day in the Med) and soon to be Sunshine for the third time, throw in the Breeze and they are our three favorite Carnival ships. I really like the three level Serenity. The Magic has the best Red Frog Pub with the open deck access area and swing gliders. We have been sailing Sunshine as it is the closest best ship in our opinion.

Enjoy

Looking forward to more. I'll be on the 11-night/8-port Journeys sailing on 11/28, which is also a Premier Casino cruise. Won't have much time for exploring the ship, but I'm really sailing for the itinerary.

Still, I like to read people's thoughts and love to look at photos. :D

FTR, my Freedom cruise late last November was La Romana, Aruba, Curacao and GT. All but GT were new for me. Honestly, I much preferred Curacao over Aruba. I thought it had much more personality. Aruba was just an over-priced, tourist-packed island with some nice beaches. That's fine, if that's all you want, but not being much of a beach person, I want more from my island paradise. ;)

So, get busy and get posting!! :p
