Help with laundry question in Dubai

Hi

I'm starting to research our hotel options in Dubai for May 2016 and thanks to many posts on this forum I've gotten many good suggestions to check out. Thank you.

We will disembark in Dubai on 5/26/2016 after a 16 days Suez Canal cruise. Aside from typical sightseeing we want to also do our laundry before our next leg of 14 days cruise from Amsterdam. Our preference is to have in-room washing machine/dryer thus narrowed down our choices to 2 - both in Deira - Marriott Executive Apartment Dubai Creek and Hyatt Place Dubai (sticking with familiar brands) . There is also a newer Marriott Executive Apartment Dubai Al Jaddaf but it may be too isolated based on review? or does it matter? Which would you recommend?

Our rough plan is to drop off luggages at the hotel then head to Jumeirah Mosque for a tour, back to hotel then head out late in pm to Burj Khalifa/Fountain/Mall of Dubai.

Day 2 - given it's a Friday we may do a 1/2 day morning tour of city, brunch, then check out souks in the afternoon.

In researching I saw many hotels indicated self service laundry available? Has anyone used them before? Does this mean they have a separate 'laundry room' and may have american style washing machines and Dryers? If yes, this will give us many more choices such as Grand Hyatt, Sheraton Dubai Creek and even JW Marriott Marquis. Also potentially dry clothes. The above mentioned apartments all have the European wash/dryer combo that sometimes don't dry clothes completely.

Any comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
