No, bottled water is not included in the UBP.

Yes, you can buy bottled waters at the bars.

The only "free" bottled water is with a casino drinks card used at the casino bar.

I've ordered Ice Water at bars and never been charged for it.

Keep in mind, the water on the ship is perfectly safe, maybe better most you'd get on land.

You can always bring a water bottle and refill it.

Remember, the water that you get on the ship is the water you get on land,,, some land,,, somewhere. Many ships bunker water while in port, hooking up to the municipal water supplies while in port. More economical than running and maintain the evaporators and reverse osmosis systems converting sea water to drinking water.

Also keep in mind you can bring a case of water on board with you. Just tape a luggage tag to it.

Desalinated water is pretty much as pure as you can get it and far safer then anything provided by your local municipality.

Apart from being a LOT more expensive to stop th purification process just to load up with a different water supply, anything brought in would have to be filtered anyway, removing any possibility of it being cheaper!

The only ships that I am aware of that 'plug into land' are Disney, which has a fiber link so you can use your ship's key card for buying drinks on Castaway Cay, although it wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility that ships hook up to land on turnaround day to download purchases and upload new passenger information. Taking on water? No. Doesn't happen.

We were on the Sky a few months ago, and they bunkered water from Miami. That information was from the Chief Engineer when we met with him in the engine control room. We were on the Spirit last month (western carib) and they bunkered water from Port Canaveral. That information was from the Environmental Officer in a discussion about waste products that had to be landed. We were on the Escape last week, but I did not verify whether they bunker 100% of their water.

Here's what Princess says about their water production: "Fresh water comes from two different sources: produced water (seawater that is either evaporated and re-condensed or produced by a reverse osmosis plant and treated with minerals and chlorine); or bunkered water, which is purchased from port communities and stored in designated potable water holding tanks. We bunker water from ports where we know water is plentiful, high in quality and costs less than the fuel needed to produce water onboard.

•Onboard production. We use steam desalination or reverse osmosis to convert seawater into fresh potable water. We also produce water through waste heat recovery. We heat diesel engine cooling water and steam from exhaust gas boilers and turn it to steam.

•Capturing condensation. The condensation from air conditioning systems is collected for such uses as machinery operation and doing laundry."
