Formal nights

I am off on a cruise in a couple of weeks time and can't decide what to pack for formal nights. Are the majority of ladies wearing long or short evening dresses these days? It will be our first time with Thomson so I am not really sure. Help please.

Mrs PC says either are acceptable but she likes to wear long just a matter of preference.

Formal.night is your night - I recommend wearing what makes you feel special. My experience with women on formal night is that the ones that enjoy it the most radiate their own sense of style and everyone else feels it.

My DW brings her LBD and the short ones as well, and decides on the night itself what will make her comfortable.

See a lot of women in trousers and a nice top, but think the number of people doing the formal evening is getting less each time we cruise

Long dresses hide my legs until they get a tan, so I take a few maxi dresses which I can bling up for formal night.

Took 2 long dresses and discovered 4 formal nights so glad i did. It does make the event special.

WARNING make sure your clothes allow for expansion room. That pre-cruise tux that 'just fits' will on 2 wk cruises get very uncomfortable! Also wear smaller styles at beginning of cruise so the 'beached whale' can still fit loose clothing later!

Long, short dress or pants and nice top. Whatever you feel comfortable with.

On casual nights some ladies really dress up and on formal nights some people are dressed quite casually.

So really just go with what makes you feel good. (unless being naked makes you feel good) :D
