Did your charge post yet? Mine showed up as Holland America Web. Of course, I only spent $5 so I don'tknow if it would have qualified.

Hasn't anyone else tried to get the credit buying OBC or excursions/spa services via the website?

It shows as Holland America Web. As I expected, no email from Amex and no credit showing on my account.

I just called American Express to see if I could get the offer loaded on to my credit card. The fine print on the World Cruises website that explains the offer says the promotion must be loaded onto your credit card in order to redeem. So if you just make a payment with your American Express card without the offer, there will be no $100 credit. They cannot load an offer for you. It must come up randomly on your offers

When I follow that link it takes me to an Amex card that I redeemed the offer on last year and says I already redeemed the offer. It won't let me link it to my Delta Amex card, so I guess I am out of luck

One of the confusing things about Amex offers is figuring out which card is eligible. I have two Amex cards, and only one got this offer. But if I look for Amex seating at a Broadway play, it's the other card that lets me see those seats.

I thought I had hit the jackpot with 6 offers on my cards and authorized users until I realized Costco doesn't take Amex anymore. :( I've talk to a Costco CSR and they suggested buying NCL gift cards and they would accept them as payments. Has anyone tried purchasing a gift card and received the $100 credit? I know the terms and conditions exclude giftcards. Thanks

You must have both cards on a single login. You will need to unlink the Delta card and then register for a new login at the AMEX site with just that card. Then you will be able to add it to that card. You cannot add the same offer to more than one card on the same login.

NCL or HAL? If NCL, you need to find the thread discussing that deal since no one here is going to know how that will work.

I bought OBC by phone today and immediately got the email saying that I had redeemed the offer. The phone number is 1-800-541-1576. The person I spoke to said you can actually do it while you're on the ship, but it works best if you do it no later than 3 days in advance since that is when the data gets sent to the ship.I bought $1000 (bringing me up to $700 savings on this cruise), am considering getting another $500-1000. You can probably buy excursions and other stuff using this number as well.

Does anyone know if HAL charges a fee to take cash out at the casino? Or will I have a problem changing my payment card to a debit card while on board? Maybe I should change it now since I know I will have remaining OBC that will be credited back.

I noticed this offer on one of my Amex cards over the weekend and didn't see any mention of it on this board: book a cruise with one of five of the Carnival Corp. lines (including HAL) and get a $100 statement credit for a $500 or more spend:

www.wlcl.com/amex

It has to be offered to you on your Amex card and you then have to add it to your Amex card account to use it. Valid for cruises booked between 10/14/2016 and 4/14/2017.

It's for real :D Not long after the offer came out I added the offer to my card and a couple of weeks ago booked a Carnival Cruise. Our deposit and Insurance was $500 and the $100 credit went on my account today. ;p

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got our credits posted. (paid Saturday, so charge posted Monday and today the credit posted) Hubby and I have same AMEX account but different #'s and sign ins, so we each got the $100 credit. Thank you for sharing this! We haven't used our AMEX in so long and had not signed in to see deals. :D

*We booked last year and just payed a little over $500 on each card to get deal.

Just a update the offer is still good. Made a payment Saturday, received the email from AMEX stating the 100.00 would appear on our bill/statement if meets T/C. Checked account today (Tuesday) and the credit had posted.

Thanks for letting us know about the offer.

You're welcome! As an aside, due to a weird occurrence with DW's Amex card, we got the offer on her card recently and were able to add it, make a payment on a currently booked cruise and get the statement credit. So we've used it twice! :)

I have the Delta card also and it wasn't showing up....BUT I got a hold of AMX and here is the link to get that offer.

www.americanexpress.com/wlcl

Then you just sign in and it should take you to this deal to enroll your card. I then called TA and made payment and they called HAL while I was on the line and made the payment to Holland Directly. Hope this helps.

I'm glad this thread got bumped up so I could see it! :D I don't use my AMEX card that much, and I don't usually get good offers. However, I logged in using the link in the post quoted above, and the offer was there! I added it to my card by checking the box, then called the TA I used for our upcoming cruise who then made the payment directly to HAL. I will be watching my AMEX account statement to see if the credit shows up. I did get an email from AMEX confirming the payment, so I should be good. (yn)

Thank you to everyone for the info about this AMEX offer! (y)

DH has an AMEX card through my account which has a different number on his card. I created a login for him today using just his info and added the offer to his card, but I haven't made a payment using his card yet. I want to see if the credit shows up for the payment on my card first. I still have time to do a payment on his card before the offer expires on 4/14/17.

Does anyone have any experience with price drops on their bookings after the offer has already been applied? I am considering using DH's card on the Princess cruise we have booked in 2018 because I do not have to go through a TA to make a payment on that one. I am a bit hesitant, though, because I'm hoping for a price drop. I am afraid I would lose the statement credit if they have to credit my account to get the price drop.

It didn't work for me. I previously called and told them it didn't work and they told me they cannot add offers to the account. I am thinking it is because we used it on two different cards last year for a cruise and you can't use it on the same card twice. You shouldn't lose the statement credit. It is not tied to the price of the cruise. It is tied to spending

Call me confused, but AmEx said I use the offer if I booked a new cruise before the April 14 deadline. There was a long exclusion paragraph that said it could not be used for excursions drink packages etc., a bit leery of adding $500 onboard credit to cruise coming up.

I tried to use my Delta Gold Amex but this deal did not show up at all when I went online to the Amex online website. I called Amex and they said it was not available for my Delta Gold card. I then went online to Amex for my other Blue card. The promotion was there so I clicked on it and linked it to my credit account. I then went online to Holland America and purchased $500 OBC. I have the $500 OBC but nothing saying I have received the online promotion.

How will I know if I have received the extra $100 OBC?

I used the link above and was able to add my delta Amex even though it wasn't listed in my Amex page. I also added my husbands Hilton Amex the same way. I called and bought $500 obc and immediately got the text alert that offer used and got an email. Key is buying obc which can be used onboard for excursions versus buying excursions directly ahead of time
