Nuevo Vallarta

Nuevo Vallarta is about 20 minutes by car or longer by bus north of Puerto Vallarta.

It consists mainly of big Condo and Hotel buildings , many of them along the beach. (think Miami Beach). So it is worth a visit only if you want to go to the beach, (although there are just a few places with access to non guests to the beach). Nothing else to see there.

Maybe you better plan a visit to e.g. San Sebastian, an old mining town in the mountains or Sayulita a kind of hippy style beachresort, more north then Nuevo, but often rather busy .

Did you ever visit the botanical gardens south of Vallarta? http://www.vbgardens.org/

Thanks Ine, The Sayulita area sounds fun. We live south of Rosarito so we always feel safe in Mexico and love the Mexican people.

We have never been to the gardens.

This is our last port on a 16 day Panama Canal cruise so we maybe tired.

In that case take a cab or the local blue/white bus to old town. Have a drink/lunch at Playa los Muertos and relax.

Thanks Ine, I will write down that restaurant. We are in PV until 11:00pm.

It isnot just 1 restaurant, but the name of the beach in old town with various Restaurants. Many have chairs right on the beach with umbrellas or under their Palapa..

Places like Langostines, La Palapa, Si Señor and many others. Some of them have websites. Restaurant Cuates y Cuestes even has a live webcam, http://www.cuatesycuetes.com/
