duty free comparison pacific islands

does anyone know how the duty free prices compare between the main stops like vila, port denarau (nadi), suva, noumea. just a thought for us budget minded

I only know that Fung Kuei's in Vila is cheaper than Noumea...never been to Fiji, etc

Hey there. We've cruised all these locations and it depends what you are looking for duty free. If it's alcohol, then you will not get a better deal than in Port Villa (Fung Kuei). Fiji's pretty crappy for duty free, lots of supposed authentic hand crafts, etc in Suva ans they do have larger stores for electronics such as camera. But duty free isn't that great these days. Let me know if there is something in particular you are after so I can comment. Forget Noumea for shopping it's expensive all round.

Vanuatu (Vila) has its own currency - Vatu. The store may take AUD but probably won't take FJD.

Are US dollars taken as well? What about perfume?

Duty free store in Port Vila took credit cards. Of course it probably doesn't exist anymore.....
