Nassau/Breeze -

We were scheduled for Sunday, August 27th, to celebrate our 30th anniversary on the beautiful Breeze. Thankfully, on Saturday we did not drive down to Galveston from Dallas, as planned. Others on our cruise did go to Galveston and they may still be stuck there. My heart breaks for what the people of South Texas are going through.

Yesterday Carnival made, what I consider to be, a generous offer to us. Our Breeze cruise was officially cancelled. But, we could get a 25% discount on a future cruise. My hubby and I wanted to cruise as soon as possible. There were no cabins on 9/10 - But there were 4 cabins on Breeze for 9/17. I booked one of them. I honestly was not paying attention to where we were going, etc. We just wanted a cruise. Well, we are going to Key West and then the Bahamas. It is a concert cruise. It looks like we will be in Nassau 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. - The entertainer is Chris Tucker, I love him. Will his concert be on the boat? It says it is a small venue, but it does not say where the concert is. If we decide not to do the concert, would it be feasible to go to Atlantis to gamble? Are we allowed to do that, or do we have to buy an excursion to go gamble at Atlantis? Is the casino on the boat opened while we are in port in Nassau? We have never been to the Bahamas, I know it gets mixed reviews, but it is something new and different. We have cruised around the Caribbean at least once a year for 10 years or more, going someplace different is very appealing.

Thank you - any and all comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

If Chris Tucker is a scheduled entertainer for the ship, undoubtedly there will be more than one concert, but I don't know if there is a schedule available until you get your FunTimes when you board. Unless they state he will only be on Nassau? Not quite sure based on your post.

The casinos and shops are typically closed when the ship is in *any* port. You can do what you want at any port as long as you get back to the ship on time at the end of the day. You don't have to book your excursions through Carnival, a lot of people do it for the security of "they won't leave me behind".

I think there will only be the single concert. The performer comes on in Nassuaau, and gets off in Nassau. Tickets may be available now and they may also be available on the ship, if it is not sold out.

I hope you can get tickets and can fully enjoy this rescheduled cruise!

I believe the Chris Tucker show would require the purchase of a ticket. If it's important to you, look into that now. As to gambling at Atlantis, you can go there without an excursion. Transportation there and back will be plentiful.

Sis and I saw Gladys Knight on the Valor last year. It was one show only, you had to buy a ticket (listed under the excursions), and it was in the Main Theater. They had some VIP tickets for a lot of money, but we just did the regular tickets. Sat up in the balcony but right next to the stage, so we had a great view!

EDIT: I see on the Carnival site that the VIP tickets for Chris Tucker are sold out. General Admission tickets are just $30. Gladys was $40. Nick Jonas's general admission tix are $75!!!
