Infinity and cigar smoking area.....?

First time on Celebrity and the Infinity coming up.....I like to enjoy a cigar every now and then while on vacation, so I plan on taking a few cigars....on Princess they would not allow me to smoke a cigar up on deck with the cigarette smokers, I could only smoke them in the indoor smoking lounge off the casino which had horrible ventilation. Personally I'd rather smell a cigar over cigarette smoke. Am I able to smoke along with the "cigarette" people in their designated area up on deck somewhere.....?? I know this is a hot topic......sorry.

I was on the Infinity in May. The cigar smoking area was anywhere smoking is allowed. It used to be different and may be on the other M Class ships. It could also change on the Infinity. It's best to check at Guest Relations on the location before you smoke.

On the S class ships it's always at the top deck aft, port side only.

If I remember right most people smoking cigars were near the Mast bar on deck 11, (above the pool) I don't recall seeing them anywhere else. I'll probably throw a few sticks in my carry on too. On the S-class I've burned quite a few up at the Sunset Bar. Great place for a whiskey and a stogie.

Last yr on Infinity, places for smoking were disgusting..The areas were located on one side of the pool deck...one near the pool bar and one near the bandstand. The ash trays with burning cigarettes were not emptied...lots of cigarette smokers playing cards etc. .I am a non smoker, but usually will sit with dh while he enjoys his cigar but at times neither one if us could stand it...

Cigar smoking was reduced to this limited space. Not as nice as it used to be out back..Hope for his sake they have improved conditions..I did see posts and photos recently of a a cigar and rum event held out back..looked nice ..can't recall which ship..sorry.

We just got off of the Infinity last week. Smoking for the most part was on deck 10 on the port side of the ship. It is the area around the outdoor pool. The area has tables and loungers and the rail area is enclosed. I think there might be one other inside area. The Casino is non smoking and wasn't as busy as I have seen on other ships. I didn't see that many smokers at any given time when making my way to the Buffet and the ashtrays were cleaned. Have a great cruise!

Top shelf!

Glad Sal will find some cigar buddies on board!

We'll chat up the Sunset Bar foljs to maybe set something nice up back there, if permitted.

Most M-Class ships have a smoking area set up on deck 4 outside on the port side near the Rendezvous Lounge. There is a sliding exit door just across from the Men's Room. I have smoked cigars there recently on Constellation and last time on Infinity. Easy to run in and refill your scotch at Rendezvous or 1 flight up in Cellar Masters which might have a better selection.

I have to say it's refreshing to not get "blasted" by militant anti smoking people.....in the past that has happened. I'll be happy to meet all other cigar folks on board.....my wife will usually sit with me and enjoy this time as well, on board some Princess ships cigars are relegated only to the indoor smoking lounge off the casino and one can't hardly breathe in there the ventilation is so bad. Looking forward to meeting you all and enjoy a fatty and scotch/whiskey.....;)

Unless something has changed this is a cigarette smoking area but not a cigar smoking area. Please consult the Daily for the most up-to-date information.

There really is no distinction in this area between cigars and cigarettes. No sign saying cigarettes only. Why do you care? I have smoked cigars there and I have seen many others smoke cigars there too. It is outside. Very breezy. Nobody ever made it an issue over my last two M-Class cruises on Infinity and Constellation.

On my recent Infinity cruise Guest Relations said you could smoke cigars in any smoking area. I know it used to be different, and is on the S class. But I think I've already mentioned this once on this thread. I don't know about recent rules on the other M class ships.

Back in the day when smoking was still allowed - portside - at the Sunset Bar, that was the only place cigars could be smoked. When they outlawed smoking there, all smoking areas were opened up to both cigarettes and cigars. I have found this to be the case on all M-Class ships.

  • 3 months later...

Is this information still up to date?

I need to start memorising where the smoking areas are so I don't accidentally walk into one. I have asthma attacks almost every time I am near smoke. Also need to let my mom know where she is allowed to smoke.

The designated smoking areas will be published in the Celebrity Today.
