All of our Princess cruises have been on the Caribbean Princess from Port Everglades ( http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2094420 ) , and so we thought that a cruise on a Royal class ship would be a nice change .

We booked a Western Caribbean cruise on the Regal Princess leaving on Sunday , February 7th and returning a week later . Our stateroom was R - 734 , an aft view balcony cabin , and this would be our first trip as elite . When we arrived at 12:30 pm we expected to find a crowd like our first Caribbean Princess cruise .

But there was no such crowd . And with the elite line we moved so fast that I didn't have time to pull my camera out ! When we entered the Atrium all I could think was WOW !

We ate lunch at Alfredo's Pizzeria on deck 6 .

We thought that it was funny that we couldn't find anything with Alfredo sauce on the menu .

After lunch we moved to our waiting stateroom . And this is the hall across the ship in the aft .

On first view , the cabin was similar to the Caribbean Princess - but with a flat screen !

Looking good already Joe.

And yes, I am getting hungry from looking at the food pictures.

Hello Mic and welcome to the cruise ! While I was taking cabin photos , Patty got on the dine line and arranged several special dinners .

So we can look forward to the Crown Grill , The Crab House , a balcony dinner and finally , the Chef's table Lumiere ( video below ) . :) :D

I am hoping that Joe points out some of the differences between the Regal Princess and the Caribbean Princess, as I have heard many people do not like the Regal's or Royal's design.

Will do Mic . Most of the comparisons will be to the Caribbean Princess (CB) , but we will primarily emphasize our trip and the new R -class Princess ship .

The clothing storage area and safe was similar to the CB .

And so was the small bathroom's design

But the shower stall was now a little larger and shower head can now be hand held - a definite improvement !

However - it still had the same clingy curtain .

A couple of elite perks were the Lotus Spa goody bag

And a stocked mini bar ( we brought the wine )
