Classic Wine Package

Can anyone explain what is included for the 109.00 per person for the Classic Wine Package. Is it all wines consumed from a designated list during the cruise?

Also thinking of getting the Premium non-alcoholic package, where on the ship can you get fresh squeezed OJ and are the smoothies from Aqua Café included. (sailing on the Summit in an Aqua cabin) for the 1st time.

Thanks

Alan

You chose from 3,5, or 7 bottles from the list based on the 10% discount.

So here is my advice (from an Oenophile) about the wine package. Do not buy it until you are aboard, and can review the current list of available wines. For many, the list of offerings can be quite disappointing.

Can't help with the non-alcohol package.

Eight ways to drink wine aboard.

1. Bring 2 bottles aboard with you. A corkage fee may be charged if you take a bottle to dinner with you, but there is no problem if you take a glass of wine with you.

2. Buy one of the Classic packages ahead of time (3, 5, or 7 bottles). Not a very good selection. These bottles can be delivered to your stateroom and/or your table in the MDR. No corkage fee.

3. Through the Gifts by Celebrity option, "gift" yourself 1, 2, 3 however many bottles for delivery to stateroom or MDR. You can even add a gift tag wishing yourself Bon Voyage or whatever. Again, not a very broad selection. [Note you can also use this approach to buy fresh flowers. As a gift for your spouse...]

4. Through your sommelier in the MDR, buy a bottle or several. They will hold any amount unused, have it for you at the next meal.

5. On longer cruises, often there will be a sommelier or two stationed at the entrance to Oceanview Cafe at lunchtime. Usually you'll have an option to buy "discounted" bottles, e.g., 2-for-$40, you can take it with you or ask to have it delivered to your room.

6. Buy by-the-glass at any bar or in the MDR or other dining spot.

7. Buy a drinks package.

8. Cruise may times on Celebrity, achieve Elite status, and go to the evening by-invitation cocktail parties.

The relative cost of these various approaches ultimately depends on how much wine of what quality/price you are likely to consume on the voyage, so I won't attempt to speak to that. But nothing after those first 2 bottles you bring aboard will be inexpensive.

Bon voyage!

I take it the 2 free bottles are only allowed at initial embarkation and not at intermediate stops?

Does Celebrity have any happy hour specials?

Yes the two bottles are only at embarkation.

Happy hour, no. But they do have a drink of the day.

You can purchase the unlimited drink packages at a pro-rated price, so depending on your drink needs that may be a better option.

On the Equinox the GasrtoBar has a half price beer HH. It is not listed in the Daily, but on a stand at the entrance. Even with the Premium pkg, I was charged the $17.50 on the $35 beer I had.

Thanks. We'll see whether we can bring 1 l bottles of wine as they look pretty close to the standard 750 ml. Vancouver isn't the cheapest place to buy them but neither is Dutch Harbor likely to be, either.

What are the cocktail prices like? Might be an otherwise dry cruise (no drinks package of any sort, and we're paying, including tips, the same per diem as classic package).for us which might do us a lot of good. We never drink enough (swill) to justify a drinks package.
