Hi, we have 9340 booked on Liberty, can you tell me if there is a gap between the wood rail and the balcony divider? From the few pics I have found, it looks like there is a gap of about a foot making the balcony not private. Do you have any pictures or help for me? Thanks so much!!

Ship - Independence of the Seas (IOTS)

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7708

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –Located at the very aft on the stern of the ship, it is a very quiet location with no hallway traffic.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Aft stern balconies give 180 degree panoramic views but are considered an obstructive view on the voyager and freedom class ships because of the superstructure on the rear of the ship. The higher the deck, the less obstructive. This deck 7 corner aft has a 6 foot side porthole that makes the covered balcony feel more open and also affords the only straight down aft water view on these classes of ships.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Deck 7 corner aft balconies are HUGE with 2 chaise lounges in addition to the standard 2 chairs and small table.

Was wind a problem? - No. Aft balconies are more sheltered from wind.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Yes, we had a major soot problem one night on the Independence.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Aft balconies are HAUNTED  so people should avoid booking them (save them for us instead :p).

aft-haunted.gif

Any other comments? - The cabin is a standard E1 (loveseat vs. sofa you would get in a D1). Some people say there is more motion being aft but we did not notice this. Some people don't like the infrastructure at the back of the ship. The balcony is not stepped but completely covered by deck 8 above. This keeps it dry in the event of rain but does limit the amout of sun it receives. There is some light pollution and sometimes noise from crew deck 5. It is a LONG walk to the elevators (which entitles you to TWO desserts!;):D).

We had this same cabin "by mistake" and I TOTALLY LOVED IT!!!! It was on the Freedom from Port Canaveral. Can you tell me what ships have that cabin and what to look for on other ships that have the same benefits? Thanks

Ship - Oasis of the Seas

Deck - 11

Stateroom # - 11170

Stateroom Category – FB Family Balcony w/Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Quiet mostly, except sometimes the cabin steward's storage room was across the hall and they sometimes congregated there to chat.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Standard port-side view w/no obstructions.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized (width of a Junior Suite balcony)

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Should probably have put the FB's on deck 14 to be closest to Adventure Ocean, otherwise none.

Any other comments? - We obtained this cabin last minute after final payment when they released it for 3 passenger booking. I believe that typically either 4 or 5 passenger are required to book this cabin. We loved the cabin. It is the size of a JS, but the typical JS walk-in closet is converted into a bunk-bed room in the FB. There are two standard size closets in the cabin and a small closet in the bunk-bed room. We hope to pick-up this cabin category on future sailings.

Ship - Allure of the Seas

Deck - 12

Stateroom # - 12727

Stateroom Category – B1

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard side, but boardwalk view

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Most of the time. Sounds/music from events in Aqua Theater could be heard through closed door. End of hallway, so little foot traffic.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Boardwalk view. Second-to-last balcony on back of ship. Almost on top of Aqua Theater. Could easily see movies on screen (can barely hear though) and shows/rehearsals in theater. Start of zip line was almost directly above. No balcony overhead, but last balcony on deck 14 could see in. Partially shielded from rain/sun

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No

Any other comments? - Great cabin, but long walk from elevators/stairs.

We had this same cabin "by mistake" and I TOTALLY LOVED IT!!!! It was on the Freedom from Port Canaveral. Can you tell me what ships have that cabin and what to look for on other ships that have the same benefits? Thanks

All 3 Freedom class ships have this cabin... so look out for Liberty as well as these two... Also cabin 7408 is exactly the same on the starboard side... same great deck. other cabins at the aft of the ship do have great balconies but decks 8 and 6 are overlooked from above.

Ship - Enchantment

Deck – 2

Stateroom # - 2084

Stateroom Category – F

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – VERY Quiet. No hallway traffic.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Not a Balcony

Any specific problems with this cabin? – Just the shower leaked on to the bathroom floor. I avoided this if you used the shower as a handheld with your back to the wall.

Any other comments? –

This cabin has 2 pullman beds. They were very comfortable! The Cabin was close to the Aft elevator. The AC worked great and there was plenty of hot water. Vroom worked great in cabin.I had no issues streaming Netflix (In HD)

Ship: GRANDEUR OF THE SEAS

Deck: 7

Stateroom: 7654

Stateroom Category: JS

Starboard or Port Side: Aft facing, slightly starboard

Quiet Stateroom: No

Was Stateroom a Connecting Room: No

Balcony View: Wake view

Balcony size? Extra deep

Was Wind a Problem: No

Any Other Comments: directly above the lounge so loud music would penetrate and actually vibrate the floor. Mostly over with by 11 pm.

We often smelled fuel exhaust in the cabin with the balcony door closed.

Often too sunny to use the balcony. It was only about 1/3 covered.

I would not book again.

Ship - Allure of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7264 (Bed by the closet)

Stateroom Category – D4 (What we were assigned based upon GTY)

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet, yet close to the elevators

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No problems. Normal forward, aft, and port side view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? -No

Any other comments? - Excellent location, just walk aft to the rock climbing wall and the Aqua theater. Go one deck down to Boardwalk and Schooner bar. Go two decks down to Cafe Promenade. Go one deck up to Central Park. Only one minor negative for deck 7 aft: Can not cross over to starboard side from port side due to higher Boardwalk entrance.
