Norwegian Promotions

I have a question about the promotions for $50 shore excursion credit. Is it $50 per room or $50 per person. We are a family of four so $50 compared to $200 total per port x 4 ports $800 is a big deal to us. Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

I also have questions about the promotions. It seems there are no details to follow! What's the deal? Specialty dining for ALL guests? How many diners? $50 for one guest? Gahhhhhh! Also, the beverage package name does not coincide with any packages. "Adult Beverage Package" - what is that?

Found a video, but I want text to reference!

And I was told by ncl service agent that you can't combine them and use them at the same . I questioned specifically about using the total amount for all of us to do an excursion in 1 one of the ports and was told no ,if your bill is 0 in port 1 and 250.00 in port #2 your bill would be 200.00 with( 2 )50.00 credits left . 1 for each of the other 2 ports. It's pretty difficult to find anything under $50 per person.

The shore excursion promo is $50 per cabin (not per person) per port, only if used for shore excursions... It's use it or lose it, not just an obc credit. Pretty much the most useless promo unless you book a transportation only excursion for 1-2 people.

That would be worth something. Do you think an NCL port shuttle will be allowed as an "excursion"?

Best to read the terms and conditions to see what perk you will benefit from the most. If booked in a suite all perks are given and the service fees associated with are included.

Credit is not good for embarkation or debarkation ports so if you were thinking transfer from or to airport it would not be allowed. Not sure how they work it for Epic med where you have a few different embarkation ports.

The shore excursion credit is a good deal for someone who was going to book excursions through NCL regardless. If you were planning on booking independent excursions it will most likely not benefit due to higher prices through NCL. You can look at the shore excursions available on your sailing to see what if anything you are interested in booking thru NCL. Costs and descriptions are straight forward.

Ubp great if you are planning on consuming more than a couple alcohol beverages each day but it does not include speciality coffee, water bottles or canned soda. You pay the gratuity on package so if combined, two people will be drinking more than $29 (service fees for two per day) in alcohol per day it's worth it.

You also pay the 18% on the free dining package but it's not much. Three speciality dinners will cost about $25 service fees total for two. They have some nice speciality venues. The dining package not applicable for some venues i.e. Dinner shows but they do offer a discount if you want to use the credit towards some non included venues.

The Internet is a good choice if you don't want the unlimited package. It can't be used as a credit towards the unlimited package upgrade. NCL announced a few months ago they were upgrading their entire fleet and that the new much faster internet will be available on all ships in July.

Extra guests sailing free is not a choice for all sailings but if available and you plan on having more than two in your stateroom you only pay the taxes, port fees and DSC for the extra guests.

We have this promotion option. I called NCL and booked the three excursions we would like at each of our 3 ports. Price of those excursions are $75 or $55pp. We will be billed onboard and our credit will be applied onboard. This is a good value for us as it is money I would spend so a real discount.

UBP - cost over $100 more pp in taxes and fees, real money out of pocket; we don't drink alcohol & have casino drink card for soda/juice/water

WiFi - want to unplug over vacation, will find wifi in port if needed

Specialty dining - $20-25 more pp, would take if KSF wasn't a Choice/need

3rd/4th free - we took this as option #2, nephew travels with us

Shore excursion spend for the 3 of us through NCL, $465:

Port #1: $225-50 = $175, private resort day with lunch

Port #2: $225-50 = $175, private resort/bike ride with lunch

Port #3: $165-50 = $115, cultural experience

For us it is like getting our excursion in Port #3 for free, that works.

Being given two perks, and knowing there was only one I'd actually use because I do buy unlimited internet, I took the shore excursion despite doubts that I would use it. The terms include a statement that "Shore excursion credit can only be redeemed by calling 1-866-625-1167 or booking onboard." As someone brought up the possibility of using that "shore excursion" credit to cover the port shuttles (not for embarkation or debarkation ports which are excluded)--something that can only be booked while on the ship, I had to wonder if anyone believed that would even be possible. I highly doubt that the shuttles to town would be labeled "shore excursion." As you note, indirectly, these transports are not listed as shore excursions. I will ask, but the cruise for which I have the shore excursion promotion is nearly a year and a half away.

I'm pretty sure you can switch them later on. I was able to. The key when switching is that you will only be able to switch to one of the perks offered when you booked so perhaps take a screenshot of them. If the shore excursions don't excite you when then are posted you can perhaps take the Internet?

If some other perk is offered down the road and before final payment you can cancel and rebook, if worth it new price wise, take the new perk. The prepaid gratuity perk was offered last August. I don't think I've seen it since then. That's worth $27/day for non suite. Value of free DSC goes up longer the cruise.

Thanks, you answered someone's question in another thread. I'm good with what I have (right cruise, room, price) so I don't care about a promo I can't use-like buying a round-trip flight for a one-way trip because it's so much cheaper. You just trash the return ticket. It never occurred to me that it may be possible to use in another way. Personally, I think $50 off an NCL excursion still leaves a higher cost than most local excursion costs.

Oh yes, the one perk I could use; I did get the paid DSC for my up-coming transatlantic.

First time cruiser here, we bought the UBP and I just re-read the terms: https://www.ncl.com/terms/ultimate-beverage-package

Does this mean we would have to buy bottled water? I drink a TON of water so should I buy a case and check it in with my luggage?

You can buy, bring and check a case. You can purchase onboard and you can fill a bottle or cup at dispenser in buffet. Bars also provide cups of ICE water.

You don't have to buy bottled water unless you insist on drinking bottled water, but the water made on board is perfectly fine. No reason to buy on board OR bring your own imho.

(And yes, you are correct, bottled water is not part of NCL's UBP.)

You can check water with your luggage. Water bottles are not covered under the UBP plan. You can also order a glass of ice water and it's covered. UBP doesn't cover anything non alcoholic in a can or bottle. Sounds really strange that you can get an expensive beer but not a bottle of water but it's just the way NCL's UBP is. I think the water on the ship tastes no different than the bottled water and so I usually just buy a bottle here and there and then try to hang onto it/ fill the same bottle and stick in the fridge at night so that I'm not wasting all that plastic and $.
