**New** Current list of Cruise Directors (CD)

Why do you think Indy CD hasn't been announced for November -May

 

Because it hasn't been scheduled yet, and they (RCI and the CDs) do not know.

 

This is very normal. Many CD schedules aren't announced until a few weeks out. Indy is a bit unusual because Joff is the CD for the European season, so he already knows his assignment for next year. But there isn't a regular person for the other times of the year, so it isn't known in advance.

 

There are many ships (Grandeur, Harmony, to name two) where a handover is expected in the next 6-8 weeks and the scheduling hasn't been announced

yet.

I heard back from RCCL re CD on Navigator - here's the response:

 

"Unfortunately, we do not know who the Cruise Director will be for your sailings on the Navigator of the Seas; as that information is not available to us. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause."

 

You'd think they might have some idea at this point but will just have to wait!!

It wouldn't be too unusual for a CD to have a 4 month break - those who aren't on regular contracts with regular ships often have weird schedules outside of the usual pattern. It is interesting that he didn't return to Freedom to cover Casey's break, as that was his last assignment. It will be interesting to see if he reappears on the schedule soon, as there are quite a few ships needing coverage over the next couple of weeks/months.

I heard back from RCCL re CD on Navigator - here's the response:

 

"Unfortunately, we do not know who the Cruise Director will be for your sailings on the Navigator of the Seas; as that information is not available to us. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause."

 

You'd think they might have some idea at this point but will just have to wait!!

I guess that's true. Maybe they have a last minute kind of approach to who is doing which ship sometimes, depending on individual's schedules, etc.

 

Hoping that Cuddy is on the ship....

Cuddy has been promoted to full CD status, and he is currently on Freedom until late-October, so he isn't free to cover on NV when Rob's break begins. After his 2 month coverage on FR is over, he may end up moving over to GR for 2 months to cover Paul's break, as the timing is perfect for that! There are a few other ships with openings around that time too.

That might restrict him to USA based ships. I'm sure he's not the only CD who isn't multi-lingual

I spoke with Cuddy last week on Freedom, and he says he signs off Freedom on Sunday October 23rd. 2016.

 

As of last week he does not know what his next ship assignment he will get. Expects to know shortly. :)
