Yellow Fever Innoculation

Does anyone know if Yellow Fever vaccination is required for Samoa. Confusion abounds. Western Samoa does not require yet Samoa says it may be required for entry if you have transitted previous countries at risk. Question is - does the transit of the Panama Canal constitute a risk which would then require Yelllow Fever vaccination for Samoa.

Unless things have changed in the last twelve months, the answer is no. We have been to both Samoa and American Samoa last year by cruise ship. No questions were asked regarding previous countries visited. We had yellow fever vaccinations a few years ago before Caribbean cruises. Upon our return to the USA, we were questioned which countries we had visited and whether we had yellow fever vaccinations (as it turned out, the countries we visited were OK).

We didn't require a yellow fever vaccination when we sailed a similar itinerary.

Best to verify with the cruise line.
