Pre-Cruise in New Orleans

I will be sailing out of New Orleans for the first time in Oct. Where is the best place to stay pre-cruise? Do any hotels have shuttles from the airport to the hotel and shuttle to the port on cruise day? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

We could not find any hotels in our price range with free airport shuttle. We took a taxi which was a flat rate of $33 from the airport to downtown.

I stayed at the Westin it was awesome no shuttle but very close by.

Try Country Inn & Suites on Magazine St. They have a great bar and a free breakfast buffet. It's a short taxi trip to pier, just two blocks south of the French Quarter and half a block from the Bon Ton restaurant. The Bon Ton is generally void of tourists and offers fabulous food at reasonable prices.

The "best place," depending on one's definition, could be quite expensive. The Westin is very nice.
