We always notify our credit card company in the event we chose to use our card while out of the country.

Or maybe the question could be, What have you forgotten to do before leaving town? Thank goodness for all the auto-shut off electronics now, no more driving back to check the coffee pot! :D

Adjust the thermostat? Shut off the main water valve to the house?

Turn off our water. We don't want any surprises upon returning home.

You can forget anything except your proof of citizenship and a credit card. Don't stress too much!

Hide the firearms and the wife's extensive jewelry collection in case of burglary. Also notify the credit card companies so your card is not declined abroad.

Make sure all the windows and doors are locked. Leave a couple of lights turned on so that it looks like someone is home and also turn a radio on to a talk station.

Joe your the best I love it. I ask my neighbor to remove the snow from my driveway and keep an eye on my house. :D :D

I always turn off the water supply to my washing machine before we leave, never know......

Tell Miss Gut to look after the place.

Make sure your credit cards do not expire during your vacation. Confirm you're taking the newly issued ones.

hahah true. i guess it depends on how long you are away. if it is a long cruise unplug, if it is a week or so then yeah don't lose your recordings :)

Make copies of passports to bring with us. I carry the originals and my DH carries the copies just in case.

Also i make sure we have all of our prescriptions filled and ready to go. Do not want to run out of the meds.

Put the cats out.

Get someone to w@ter the plants.

if coming from a really cold climate in winter, adjust faucets to drip slowly.

Arrange for someone to randomly check the house, leaving a radio or random light on.

Take care of your furry friends.
