Journey Trans Atlantic Internet Speed Compared to Celebrity Reflection

On our April'17 Reflection TA the internet met our expectations - even in the mid-Atlantic. Does AZ use the same "

Xcelerate" system as X? If not, can anyone compare Journey's internet to Xcelerate on TAs? Thanks.

There is no comparaison.

On the Celebrity Constellation Transatlantic in April 2015,I was able to use FaceTime,Skype and Netflix without problem except for a few hours .

On Azamara Quest in April 2016,I was able to use FaceTime and browse the web but not much else .The internet was down a few time and pages were slow to load.

I enjoyed the Azamara Transatlantic very much but missed being able to watch movies and series .

My husband had to send large files of data while on board Azamara Journey in December 2016,it worked although we were at sea near Bali.

The Azamara system has improved but Xcelerate is much better.

Thanks for the reply. Sad to hear that AZ hasn't implemented Xcelerate. My TA isn't until fall of 2018 so here's hoping they catch up.

I don't think it's going to happen. It's not that long ago that Azamara's internet was upgraded prior to the ships being "reimagined". It does depend upon what you want to use it for. For simple browsing and social media posts I didn't really notice much difference between the two (I took a fall 2016 ta on both Journey and Reflection). I wish Celebrity had Voom internet like Royal Caribbean's newer ships. Now that was quick!
