Can anyone help me with a luggage question? We received a call from our travel agent yesterday. We were told that on our upcoming B2B cruise , we would need to pack our suitcases and set them outside our room. They would then be taken downstairs and later returned to our new cabin. That cabin is across the hall from our first cabin! When I called Carnival to confirm this info, they agreed!!! Can this possibly be true??? Help.

We have done many B2B and have occasionally had to change rooms including once moving to a cabin next door. Inform your room steward early about your change. Ask him to clean the new room early or to talk to the steward who has that room to do it early.

Bring extra wire coat hangers so you or he/she can just carry the hanging clothes across the hall to rehang. Your luggage does not have to leave the ship. When moving close it is often easier to make multiple trips than to totally pack. Good luck.

We have always used the same cabin on a B2B so have not had your problem. Any chance you can get the TA to reassign you to the same cabin.?.

Second thing you might try as probably (maybe) your steward will be the same for both cabins as they are across you might talk to him/her and for a small tip you might be able to work something out.

Good Luck.

That is untrue! I have done multiple back-to-back cruises and unless you're changing boats between cruises you do not need to take your luggage off the boat. If you are remaining in the same room you don't need to do anything to your luggage. If changing rooms you will need to pack up everything except your hang up clothes into your suitcases but leave them in your room. Be sure to notify your room steward early in your first cruise that you are on a back to back and what room you will be in for the next cruise. Your room steward will arrange with your next room steward the transfer of your luggage directly from room to room and will move your clothing in the closet on the hangers (the hangers on carnival are able to move from closet to closet so no need to bring your own hangers). On the day of debarkation/embarkation take your self, your customs declaration certificate, your passport, and your sail and sign card to the lobby at the time instructed on the memo you will receive in your cabin. All of the passengers doing back to backs are issued their new sail and sign cards at that time and escorted off the ship past customs to turn in your declaration certificate and back onto the ship. If you wish to go ashore in the home port you will have also received a passenger in transit card which theoretically allows you to reboard the ship when you're ready just as if you were in an island port however I have not chosen to go into the home ports between cruises.

I recently did a b2b (1/25/16) I had to move from deck 8 to deck 2. Speak to your cabin steward. I carried my luggage from one cabin to the other & handed to the steward caring for my room on deck 2. This was about 8am. I had gone to deck 2 a few days before & introduced myself to the new steward so he was expecting me.

I'm doing a back to back to back next week but I chose the same cabin for all three cruises or I would know the answer to your question very shortly. I really don't think you their rules have changed in the past few months though

We just did a B2B in Jan. and had to move next door. I hung as much as I could and put stuff in our luggage. The next morning my husband and our two cabin stewards moved us. They had cleaned our new room first and then we moved. The rod in the cabins actually just lift off. They lifted the old rod off and put it in the new cabin and the new cabins rod went into our old room. It was easy and done in a couple of minutes.

We have also done several B2B's where we didn't have to move (couldn't get the same cabin this time) and we did nothing at all with all our stuff.

Has anyone cruised a B2B in Europe?

I have heard that you do not have to get off and go thru Customs due to the borderless travel in EU. Does anyone have any experience with this? Would like to leave ship early to go on an excursion. ...

We just returned from the Carnival Pride b2b and had to move rooms. You will receive info on the ship during the 1st leg. We packed our luggage but did not put it out with the other luggage. Your cabin steward will help move it to your new cabin. I labeled the luggage with the new cabin number and had no problems. PLEASE DO NOT PUT IT OUT WITH THE OTHER LUGGAGE

Talk to your cabin steward during the first week. He or she will tell you the way that they want you to handle it, they all seem to do it a little bit differently.

We have twice. We certainly did not clear customs or immigration either time, once in Istanbul and once in Dubrovnik. In fact both cruises ended in Athens and I don't recall clearing customs when we got off the ship there either.

We moved decks and from fwd to aft. We checked with our 1st leg steward when we boarded and were told to just pack everything and he would see that it got to our 2nd leg cabin.

Did as told and on the last day met with other B2B'ers in the dining room. Old cards taken and new ones handed out. Off through customs and straight back on. Welcome aboard champagne for the B2B group and a group photo. Went to the new cabin and everything was there.

Leaving your luggage outside seems like a real good formula for not having it on board for the 2nd leg:eek:

I just want to reiterate what others have said. Do not put your luggage out the night before or it may not make it back on board! If I had to I would move my own luggage rather than do that! But you shouldn't have to do that, although we did tip the steward extra to do it because it is something beyond his normal duties and they are so busy on turn around day.
